This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Dear Lord...
Things that make me shudder uncontrollably mainly involve people's cars for some reason and have to include....

'Bumper' stickers (including the internal notices - 'princess on board' etc), furry steering wheels, 5,000 stuffed toys on the parcel shelf, Playboy motiffs - anywhere, 'spinners' - aaagh, blue underlighters, covered tissue boxes on the parcel shelf and any meccano looking additions to the body work by way of crap spoilers, etc...

Ooooooh, shudder.

I have to admitt,
I did used to have a bumper sticker that said "My other car is a Time Machine" in the back to the future font.

Must Kill
I saw a car a while ago with one of those baby on board stickers in the window, except it said:

"Perfect family on board"

It made me want to crash into them and add a few imperfections.

stickers
My chum the porn chef had "i'd rather be masturbating" on the back of his car... until one day when plod made him remove it.
Personally, i'd have refused, and asked them to quote act and section that i was contravening, but then i don't drive round with a bag of weed under my seat..

i also have a furry steering wheel cover (in leopardskin) - it's the only way i stop feeling like my dad, driving a passat..

The interiors and exteriors of car should be painted with Teflon
so that they can't stick those annoying stickers and signs to their cars.

nonono
the point of all those things is to serve as a warning to other road users:

"Be warned. The driver of this car is a muppet/mentally incompetent/being distracted by their spawn. So don't expect them to understand about use of indicators or other such arcane secrets of driving, and allow plenty of stopping distance."

Except that doesn't fit on a sticker, and people wouldn't put it up themselves.
