This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Wakefield, never!
I have had many a lovely day there! Watching the wee duckies in the river, sitting in the sun on the hill (watching more wee duckies) in the big park, seeing how far I can look up at the cathedral without feeling the need to fall over from backwards vertigo...

I have yet to be taken to Sandal Castle but I await the visit happily!

My family's from Dewsbury.

Moved out, but still drive over most weeks to pick up a Wakefield Express. The 'Reports from the Courts' section is better than Facebook for keeping up with events on the social scene.
