This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

I read books. Not only does this render me unforgivably "posh," as you funny-talking foreigners put it, but if any Sarah Palin fans ever find out they'll try to hunt me down and kick my ass.

"Whatcha readin' fer?"
"Hey Earl- looks like we got ourselves a reader over here."

It's okay, Palin will never find out. They'd have to read this site first. And seeing as how there isn't an assault rifle or dead moose on here anywhere...

By reading books...
Do you mean real books? Not just the ones that are spin-offs of TV and movie series?

owning guns does not make you a republican
I read books (mostly Heinlein), I also own several assault rifles, shotguns, and pistols. I am a democrat and a Texan!

That
would be animal cruelty. Here in the UK they would have a good telling off from the RSPCA.

common
Yeah, we don't have any readers here, or any decent universities, or art, or culture, or public libraries.

Common? How about mocking your own country on a website hosted in another one?

Idiot.
