This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

What really grinds my gears!
Ok, I was born in Scotland, grew up in Essex and I now live in Milton Keynes. I know that sounds pretty bad but this is not about me! (I have a great phone voice!)

My relatives are mostly from uuuupppppp nnnooorrrthhh and the thing that really bothers me is northeners that say "boccle" instead of "bottle". At first I thought it was a form of baby talk as the offender has a young child but I then realised they ACTAULLY SAID "BOCCLE" INSTEAD OF "BOTTLE". Come on, you can't help the way you look but you can at least pronounce your t's proper!!!

Sorry Aunt Jane, love the camel toe, it really works with the white Matalan cropped cargo's and fading magaluf tan.

That is all!

Ooohhh i feel so bad, it's the hormones, blame the hormones!

Is it common though?
Is it a common practice of the area or limited to your family? (in which case it is an eccentricity and something to be proud of). 'Tis a bit odd though.

On the other hand Milton Keynes? common as muck. I'd never for a minute actually own up to living in Great Linfor....

Ahh fucksocks.

I don't think so...
It's definitely not limited to just this one person in my family (not a blood relative). I have seen northern males on tv (usually on those Britains Hardest Pubs shows) who also say "boccle". Also, Les Battersby played by Bruce Jones (another scumbag)from Coronation Street says it too!

As you can see this statement has been heavily researched!!

Life in MK is not too bad if you like estate after estate of the exactly the same house, with front doors painted various colours for differentiation purposes!

But is does have one good thing, NEMESIS, that body popping group of Chav's!

Here in Manchester
I work a "hospicul". Everyone from the OP clerks to the consultants call it as much.
