Scottish Pound Notes...Are great...Go into a busy shop in England, pay for something with a Scottish pound note and bingo -:nine times out of ten they will give you change from a fiver...

Double Whammy!!since Scottish £1 notes are not even legal tender in England and Wales anyway. The 5s, 10s and 20s are, but not the 1s.

Technicallythey're not actually legal tender in Scotland either. Only English notes and £1 and £2 coins are legal tender apparently, even north of the border. They are however legal currency. Have a look at Wikipedia for more.

My tight boss at the newspaper shop...used to get rid of all his £1 notes when paying the paper boys. I used to get £14 a week (not bad when your young), 1x£10note and 4x£1notes. He kept doing this right until they banned the scottish pound notes leaving me with nearly £50 in useless paper.
What a twunt.
