In Finnmark.....way up north, everyone we met gave us a fanta bottle of 'burn' - their homebrew moonshine. Yay!
Also, asking directions from Berlevag to Tromso everyone refused to give any directions that didn't involve driving through Finland, because the beer is cheaper there.
So much for getting people to drink less by putting up the price.

Reminds me of a visit to Sweden.I've notnseen people pile that much booze into trolleys outside of a cash and carry. I saw Norwegians with a hundred or so cans of beer coming out ofnthe purpose-built-for-norwegians off-license.
