Controversial Beliefs
Some mugs still think the MMR injection gives children autism (it doesn't), while others are of the belief that we're ruled by billionaire lizard people. Tell us about views outside the mainstream which people go glassy eyed if you bang on about them (Your grandad's a racist - no need to tell us, thanks)

Religions.
It's a sliding scale I guess.
I've known quite a few Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Bahains, Buddhists, Zoroastrians and Atheists.
EDIT: I've also lived with some Sikhs and Agnostics. The only group I really didn't like was the Taliban - you know that day (maybe a week to 10 days) when you haven't shaved? Yeah, cunts wouldn't let me scrape ma face - fucking itched like a bastard.
To a person they've either been good, honest, reliable people or absolute cunts regardless of what they believe in.
But then you have mobs like WBC and Islamic suicide bombers - those who have beliefs that are so strongly diametrically opposite to the precepts of the religions they claim to represent that it just isn't funny. Yet they claim that everything they do is not only sanctioned but even smiled upon by the sky-fairies they claim to believe in.
Yet these guys are the ones that the mainstream media focuses on.
Not the hundreds of thousands people who go about seeking their eternal salivations every day. Without preaching any hate, raising any ire or blowing any shit up.
If you're gonna be a religious zealot how about following this guys lead. I mean apart from holding up some traffic and pissing off some road-workers (cleanup's a bitch) the worst he's done is immolated himself. For the right to believe in what he wants to *& something about the sovereignty of his home*.
EDIT: I'd say he probably put a few tourists off their lhaksa - probably worse today tho.
And no I don't mean nailing yourself to a crucifix or self-flagellation. That's just public bdsm.
That is all.

Have you actualy read the bibble?
The WBC mob are some of the only true christians on the planet -- the rest conveniently ignore most of the gospels and all of the old testament.
I've not yet managed to read more than a couple of chapter of the quorn but what I did gather is that it's not exactly big on being friendly with people from other religions.
What's fucked up here is not a few people misrepresenting the faith it's a few people actually doing what the religion tells them to do.

I am a liberal and an atheist.
I take the position that atheism is such a sensible position that it doesn't need to be preached or defended.

According to the last census, nearly a quarter of the people living in my district are non-religious.
They're probably not middle-class enough to qualify as "proper" atheists though. I'd bet actual money most of them wouldn't refer to themselves as "brights" either.

People who use the term "sky fairy" get my personal goat.
Also, men without beards.

I fit into at least 1 of those categories
(it was the 1st time I used that phrase).
Got yer goat muthafukka!
What are ya going to do about it?

Stroke my beard.
Beards make everything better (the Muslims are right on this, at least).

You have to suffer,
otherwise you'll never appreciate what you've gained.
