IMHO, all one-year warranties are pointless.
All they do is duplicate existing consumer rights, while cynically encouraging the false belief that you can only expect something to work right for a year and then crap out.
The Sale of Goods Act gives a much better standard of protection; in the right circumstances you could expect seven years of product lifespan.
I'd say more, but: a/ It's late. b/ I'm tired. c/ It's probably long after it could have been useful.
