Creepy!
Smash Monkey asks: "what's the creepiest thing you've seen, heard or felt? What has sent shivers running up your spine and skidmarks running up your undercrackers? Tell us, we'll make it all better"

I remember seeing it in a book when I was younger, and it really freaked me out.
There was another grainy black and white photo of a guy driving a car, with a face visible in the back (supposedly the driver's dead mother I think) that creeped me out too.

I had that book.
An Arthur C. Clarke book, either the one with the crystal skull or the iceberg skull with the ships stuck in it.

Arthur C Clarke's World of Strange Powers?
It was made into a TV series in the early/mid '80s. I remember when that photo came up onto the screen I freaked. I think they were subjecting several 'famous' ghost photographs to scrutiny and this was the only one that they couldn't find any evidence of forgery with.
Interestingly enough, the location of the apparation in the photo compared to its surroundings would make it out to be 9-feet tall...
