This is a question Creepy!

Smash Monkey asks: "what's the creepiest thing you've seen, heard or felt? What has sent shivers running up your spine and skidmarks running up your undercrackers? Tell us, we'll make it all better"

Camping...
No, not the gay kind, the outdoor in a tent kind.

I managed to watch 'The Blair Witch Project' in the cinema 2 days before I went stealth camping on my own in the New Forest.

Taken individually:

A) The Blair Witch Project - Enjoyable film, bit scary, but not too bad.

B) Camping on one's tod in the woods, not scary. Quite fun avoiding getting caught.

A + B = Seriously fucking spooked out dude on his own who is terrified of every noise he hears while cowering in his tent.

I'm such a twat.

I'm afraid you are wrong
the Blair Witch Project was complete fucking shite. Not scary and not enjoyable due to being hugely shit.

The lead's hanging snotters
were quite unsettling.

each to their own innit
I thought it was terrible, and that was even without the camera making me feel sick. I blame poor seats in the cinema for that though.

Although not the best film I've seen...
I certainly didn't feel disappointed as I left the cinema.

And it freaked me out 2 days later, which in my mind got me my money's worth.

Isn't it funny though how some people see a film and think it's utter shite, yet others don't think it's too bad.

It's like that fucking awful film with the weird rabbit in, Donnie Darko. People rave about that, but I just didn't get it and hate it with a passion. People ask me why I didn't like it, and I don't know. Just didn't.

Partly because it didn't really end. I had to look it up on the google machine to find out what happened, and even that couldn't tell me. In fact it seems even the fucking director didn't really know.

I think I have just got a poor taste in films. Ah well.

I did much the same thing
[Pearoast, sorry]

I'd gone an early morning swim while on holiday, aged about 11. My sister and I had gone waaaaayyy out to sea, because it was dead flat calm, almost mirror smooth. We'd made it out to a buoy about half a mile from the beach, and it was eerily silent; early morning with no-one around, no waves, no wind.

Slightly unsettling, already. Our voices seemed to be sucked away into nothingness. Facing away from the beach we seemed to be alone on an infinite, smooth plane of water, utterly alone in the ocean.

THEN I remembered that we'd seen Jaws the day before.

I think I was still swimming as I hit the road at the top of the beach...

swimming way out to sea can be fucking creepy anyway
even without having recently watched Jaws.

I got creeped out
swimming my mile badge in the swimming baths just after having watched Jaws. I couldn't swim at the deep end on my back - had to go onto my front for that bit just in case someone had accidentally let a man-eating great white into the public baths.

No-one expects Pool Shark!

Ah...
Watched it the first time and thought it ok. Wasn't until some 6 months (early February) later I was walking home from the then GF early in the morning through the cemetery with loads of trees I suddenly got very scared and ran all the way home...

Second time I was watching it and the GF (different one, some years later) decided rather than try to drunkenly unlock the door, knocking on the window would be a good idea...
