My Biggest Disappointment
Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."
Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.
What's disappointed you lot?

Disappointment? It's the first day of the month
And my bank account balance has dropped dramatically close to empty.
Fucking electric. And gas. And council tax. And mortgage. And broadband. And phone. And mobile phone. And Union fees. And water bills. And that trip to the dentist.
When did being a grown up get so expensive?

I checked my balance online
literally five minutes ago.
My salary went in yesterday. All but £50 of it went out the same day to clear last month's credit card bill. Luckily, I have enough already in the account to see me through but it was still an expensive month!

I'm having an expensive month
Solely on luxuries as my rent is cheap as chips and covers all bills except t'internet.
3 x gig tickets, curry with work tonight, cinema tomorrow, big birthday Saturday, adn looking into travel for a possible appearance at the August B3ta bash. Even put funds in the savings this month!

I'm starting to get concerned.
My pay was supposed to go in first thing Monday morning.. And it didn't.
Then it was supposed to be midnight last night.
I'm now flying dangerously low, with Direct Debits due to go out on Friday.

I don't want to grow up
but it seems I'm paying the price anyhow. The dental hygienist has suggested I buy a decent electric toothbrush. Turns out this is 90 quid. 90 quid!! I have my eye on a car that'd only cost 250.

I have a standard toothbrush
and crap teeth. But I don't see how electric toothbrushes (teethbrush?) are any better, provided you use a normal one properly.
I just made an appointment with the dentist because CHCB's post reminded me I had to rebook after missing one. But it's a whole month away, FFS!

At the grand old age of 42 I bought my first house.

So, if I ever have the need to locate submarines I just need to nip down to Boots and buy an electric toothbrush?

You seem to know an awful lot about this.
You don't 'clean your teeth' with it at 4pm on Wednesdays, by any chance?

yes, sonar pulses!!
i'd never buy a toothbrush that wasn't one of those oral b ones now (£6, not £90). i hate it when the battery starts to die, it's like cleaning your teeth with a regular toothbrush...

I know
the crushing disappointment as you realise it won't last till the end of your brushing...
swipe, do you know anything about business law?

The question is
who looks at a toothbrush and thinks "hmm, this could do with being a little more sonic"?!
Now a LASER toothbrush. THAT would be cool.

Lasers increase the coolness of everything.
But I like the idea of a man in a toothbrush factory suddenly deciding
"Hmm... needs more SONIC!"
