me and my parents are driving up north for the weekend sometime in july
on top of the petrol cost, food, accommodation, gowns... i am picking up a piece of paper i have effectively paid £10 000 for.

ooof.
Makes me think how lucky I am to have been born in Scotland... Graduating myself this year from a 5 year degree which is completely state funded. The SNP even abolished the so-called graduate endowment fee (about £1200) Scottish students had to pay when graduating. The inequality in higher education funding across the UK is pretty shocking!

Also (hopefully) graduating this July. £40 for the tickets and the parchment. An extra bit for gown and photos. I am very fortunate with where I was born!

dunno where you were studying, but mine set me back 2 grand. Luckily it was covered by the SAAS, so it's part of my loan agreement, which I don't have to pay back due to living abroad and not making anywhere near enough money
