Pointless Experiments
Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

"What is smoking a cigarette like?"
All I knew is I wanted to try again, and again, and again...

You're going to hate me for this
but I can pick them up and put them down at will. I sat in a beer garden last night smoking like a chimney and nursing pints. Woke up this morning; no urge. I will not smoke all day. I may have a cigarette with a glass of wine this evening whilst watching Tom Waits play in the phoenix park in Dublin.

Same here. I'm an evening smoker only. I often have 1 or 2 in the evening with a pint or glas of wine and then never bother the next day. I'm trying to stop this though as it seems like a dangerous game and I don't want to be fully addicted :o(

I've been smoking for about ten years or so.
I did the 20-a-day thing. I didnt like it. My great Gran always said, "A little bit of what you fancy never does you any harm". Now, assuming you're not dabbling in d'aul heroine or the crack cocaine, chances are you'll be alright*
*Bullshit alert! I am a freak. Nicotine is about as addictive as it comes. STOP NOW!!!

I was never a smoker
but I have recently started smoking an occasional pipe. There is nothing nicer or more relaxing than enjoying the night air and tranquilly puffing away.
No idea why I got it into my head to give it a try, it isn't like I have a flat cap and a whippet here and i'm only 27. My brain has been a little odd recently though. Perhaps I have picked up a toxoplasma or something.

I'm thinking about getting a pipe
..and I'm only 29. In the long run it works out a lot cheaper and apparently gives you a much more relaxing buzz than the snouts. Plus it looks rather cool in an eccentric way. Also, one major bonus is that pipe smokers count as non-smokers when it comes to life assurance, or so an old duffer in the pub told me.

I'm the same as Baz
I think it's referred to as being a "Social Smoker". When I go out I always buy a pack of the ol' Marlboro Lights and smoke away all evening. The next morning I have no urge to smoke at all, this can carry on for days or weeks, it depends on when I next go out.
