Pointless Experiments
Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

Experiments I'd like to see:
You know those muscle toners? Slendertone and the like.
Would it be cruel to plaster loads of the pads all over a paralysed person, rig up a remote control system, and have them shambling about like a really unwilling and clumsy automaton?

I read yesterday
that they actually do use electrical impulses and implaments similar to what you've just described in order to stimulate the muscles of people recovering from severe injury. A boy who was paralyzed from the waist-down is able to pedal a stationary bike by these means and it effectively trains his muscles although he cannot yet move them on his own. So it's not that far off...and it would be pretty funny.
