This is a question Fairgrounds, theme parks, circuses and carnivals

Tell us about the time the fairground came to town and you were sick in a hedge; or when you went to a theme park or circus and were sick in a hedge

When I was but a lad (probably about 10)
I went to the Southport funfair, which I think is gone now. Now for those who don't know (or don't care) the largest ride was the TraumaTizer, and it was one of those rides where you are suspended from an overhead beam and have to wear a great big harness (this comes into play later).

All my friends were going on it, so to not look like a complete pansy, I went ahead, even though this was the first rollercoaster I had been on.

Oh fuck.

The sheer force of that ride was so unexpected and so large, it caused me to gnaw the inside of my lower lip with my top row of teeth, cushioned nicely by the ROCK-SOLID harness. I was a mess. A total mess. All the inside of my mouth was full of bright red life-juice, not to mention I also vomited.

Because at heart, I AM a complete pansy.

Um
What I said here before I edited it was pretty much me demonstrating that I can't fucking read.

Oh? Last I heard was that it had moved or something.
Or maybe that was JUST the TraumaTizer.

It's at Blackpool now!
Painted blue and called Infusion. I think that's the name anyway. It's the same ride anyway.

A bit of a crafty move by Blackpool.
And by crafty I mean unsubtle. Oh well at least I can still ride it and do myself some more lip damage any time I please. :D

I was gutted when it closed, although I've not been able to go back since it reopened!

Trauma Tizer
Sounds like a street name for Red Bull

oh dear
was that the one that is a bit like Alton Towers Nemesis? if so it is the only time i have ever been relieved to get off a ride - not good for me as I love coasters.

Pretty much the same ride.
Now imagine that, but if you were 10 years old, and unwillingly grinding the fuck out of the inside of your lower lip.

Southport fair
is still there. The site was briefly owned by 'Travellers' who fucked things up royally. It's now in the hands of, I think, the previous (original) owners who are now not being charged the Earth to run it. The 'Sky Ride' has gone though and the arcade's aren't as good as they were (still better than those fruit machine filled pieces of shite though). Good times. Oh, and the Mini Golf course that used to be near the entrance has gone too.
