Nah, it's goodTake a small amount and crisp it under a grill or in a pan, until its concentrated essence of salty rich cured ham. It adds an extra depth and crunch.
So what if some tart in Italy is crying about it.

I'm sure it's lovely.I used to buy breakfast rolls of a Dutch fella in St Albans - bacon, egg, mushrooms and frikandel. Having looked up frikandel on Wikipedia, I'm forced to conclude that Dutch and German cuisine is terrible.
