This is a question Stuff I've found

Freddy Woo writes, "My non-prostitute-killing, lorry driving uncle once came home with a wedding cake. Found it in a layby, scoffed the lot over several weeks."

What's the best thing you've found?

To my surprise I have found...
...that after 20 years of a successful, secure and comfortable life in Australia that I now crave a desire to live back in the UK.
I'd be saying goodbye to great mates, a lovely local environment and a decent house.
But family? They are there and I am here.
God I must be getting old...

don't do it
I lived in Australia for a year and have regretted coming back ever since.

Trust me, there is nothing worth coming back here for. Not even proper Orange Fanta & Yorkie bars.

I made the same mistake when I left New Zealand.
Don't do it.

Go back for a month on holiday in the
middle of winter, and see if you change your mind then.....

I feel for you
But the other way around. 7 years in the UK, one daughter later, and I reckon it's time to go back to the land down under (where women blow and men chunder, apparently) so I can get free babysitting from willing grandparents. Maybe it's just because it's November.

No!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't do it! Stay where you are. Your family can visit. I'm a British ex-pat who now lives in the US, I will never regret moving here. If you miss seeing your family, just get Skype, it's great fun!

Ask yourself this question:
When Australia plays England (any sport) who do you support?
(, Fri 7 Nov 2008, 6:40, closed)
Sport...
...not really into sport. But I guess I usually go for England!
