This is a question Get Rich Quick

Jabboy contacted us because he's skint. So what have you done to make money fast? Did you actually make anything, or were you just ripped off by someone who really was getting rich quick? Did you have to sell your soul?

PS. Jabboy is available for rent on 0870 88673242

Someone's put gambling up as a joke...
However it is what I do every day. And in terms of get rich quick, well most flat horse races are over in a minute or two.

Let me introduce you to Betfair. In essence it's gambling, but the classier punters trade. It introduces the idea of "laying" a horse - which is to bet a horse loses. You can act as a bookie. Think of how many losers you have picked in the past - you can now make money from these!

Most days I can do something like this - there is a football match, my "position" by half time is one that should A win, I win £300; B wins, I make £300, and should it end a draw, I take out £100. At this point I can happily switch off my laptop and enjoy the match. It can be even more lucrative in the horses - I set up a "book" (much like a bookie would) and back/lay each selection in a race for guaranteed profit.

There is no funny coming, just a genuine get rich quick scheme for you all - a lot of you seem very intelligent and switched on...if you can do your maths on the spin, and can have restraint in your betting (v. important), there are huge amounts of money to be made. Importantly perhaps, only the above skills are required - a knowledge of sport is helpful but not essential, as all you are doing are taking a position dependant on prices.

Start off with a tenner, get a feel for the site - and I am most sure any number of you kids could be ripping it up too.

Whoa
I'm investigating tomorrow. Your post is bookmarked. I was told at school I was the best mathematician they'd seen in years and as I never normally bet, I can exercise restraint. If it works then cheers!

Yes, yes and yes.
Betfair has to be the best gambling related invention ever. As well as winning money for me its saved some nasty bets from going wrong. Superbowl was a great example, £40 on Patriots. Giants are on the attack right near the end of the match and are getting a little close to scoring for my comfort. I lay the bet at about 20% lower than what I got and two plays later Eli Manning wriggles free and pulls out an amazing throw. That attack ends up winning them game. Without Betfair I'd have not been able to eat that week due to my poor student nature.

My mate has it perfected and has a lot more money than me to gamble with. There was one point on the Euros (wish I had a screen shot) where there was 4 teams left in it, and depending on who won he was set to win a minimum of £50 and a maximum of £150. His profits have been irritatingly big this year, if I had the bankroll and the sheer confidence at times I'd like to think I'd have the same. Hell I pick a lot of his bets for him but I just can't afford to lose the money if it goes tits up.

Overall, providing you know you're market well this tool is brilliant.

If a group of people is making money from betting,
then another group must be losing an equal amount of money (or rather, an equal amount plus whatever the owners of the site end up with).

The blanket term....
.....for those people is England fans. Makes me laugh the people that bet patriotically because they think putting money behind what they want to happen makes it more likely to occur. Seen people puts hundreds on England or English sportsmen for no good reason. But I'm digressing.

Of course you're not going to win everytime, but things like matched betting and of course knowing your market really does increase your chances.
