This is a question Getting Old

Drimble asks: When was it last brought home to you just how old you're getting? We last asked this in 2004, and you're eight years older now. Eight. Years.

Telephone numbers
They're 9 digits, dammit. London is the 081 area code, not 0208.

I still hear the Live and Kicking jingle when I say 081 811 8181.

I think you'll find it was ...
"01, if you're outside London, 811 8055"
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 16:57, closed)

and also 020 is the area code for London not 0208 or (0207 for that matter) :)

But railing against 01922 wouldn't have been as good.

I remember Going Live when they changed from the old number to the new(er) one. Also confused the hell out of someone in London when I tried phoning its predecessor, Saturday Superstore, and didn't realise I had the wrong number.

Pfft....
01 997 xxxx
was our number back in the old days.

yes, I do actually know what the last four digits were, just can't be too careful these days what all these storkers around, y'know

And what are they going to do with a decommissioned phone number exactly?
(, Sat 9 Jun 2012, 8:43, closed)
It's not 0208 now either.
