Bizarre habits
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "Until I pointed it out, my other half use to hang out the washing making sure that both pegs were the same colour. Now she goes out of her way to make sure they never match." Tell us about bizarre rituals, habits and OCD-like behaviour.

The sound of a vacuum cleaner...
...sends me to sleep. Interestingly enough, I find that the tone of a Dyson is the best at it.
The sound of my missus' hair dryer works equally as well in putting me under, but I prefer the hoover.
When I waken up, even if I have slept for well over my necessary 7 hours and i'm bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, I have to make sure that I physically get up and out of bed before she gets the hair-dryer out, otherwise I'm out for the count as soon as she switches it on.
My brain just tells my body to curl up into a little ball, cover my eyes and go to sleep.
I'm absolutely powerless.

So you don't think that this is a bizarre habit then?
Everyone else does.

Wow!
If your missus ever wants to have an affair she's well sorted!

I do this too! If someone starts hoovering around me or drying their hair, I get drowsy and want to go sleepies!

Is it a white noise/ womb thing?
I get this too and always have done. Any hoover or washing machine makes me feel contented and safe and I want to doze off. Loveliest feeling in the world, especially if it is cold and raining out at the same time too.

It's very warm at night at the mo oop north
and I have had trouble sleeping for several years, hot or cold.
But recently I took a little desk fan from work and put it on my night stand. Doesn't matter where it points, the hum from it lulls me to sleep much quicker than the radio.
It's brilliant.

So, I put it on just before bed time - knocks me out every time
