Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

Just came out of Fitness First. Lighting a cigarette.
Surely that's wasted gym membership right there.

He'd go to the gym three times a week, never ate anything fried and was always on at her about the stuff she had for lunch, telling her how unhealthy it was, and he smoked.

my old mate Beastmaster at uni smoked bongs like a mofo, and yet was in the Cardiff Harriers (running club/team) and would regularly run several miles uphill from the supermarket with two weeks of shopping in his rucksack.

'nuff said!
But I will say some more... I used to smoke and people would always tell me I'd just wasted the hour of yoga or gym or whatever I'd done before lighting up and tucking into a packet of crisps. BUT: I was going to smoke the cigarette anyway, and eat the crisps anyway, so how is doing an hour of exercise first a bad thing? With food particularly, it's much better for you to eat 250 calories (packet of McCoys) then burn them off on the treadmill than to spend the time it takes sitting on your arse watching TV. I obviously have no medical opinion to back this up, just my own common sense. If any medical people can back me up (or shoot me down) I'd be grateful?

I came up with this fact;
"Eyeballs burn more calories than your legs do, so watching TV is healthier than running."
Proof;
