This is a question Impulse buys

I'm now the owner of a monster trampoline that's nearly too big for the garden. Tell us your retail disasters and triumphs.

A Motorhome
I've just bought a five year old 6 berth motorhome.....and I live on my own....

Its a Bessacarr E795 for anyone who knows these things - WHAT WAS I THINKING? It was sat outside the pub and the owner was a lovely chap. A few pints of Hobgoblin later and the deal was done.

I know all my holidays are now sorted but £26,000? I reckon I'll be quids in by 2097! The nice man in the pub said they don't depreciate, a bit like boats......me and my big ideas!

It's true though
They don't. A friend has just sold a (DAMAGED!) 1994 Hymer for around £10k.

Nice purchase. Enjoy it. Wish I could afford one!

Youd nevr buy anything if you read the reviews....
Theres always a few people who have bad experiences with something....

It's an ex Bessacarr demonstrator and has been shaken down pretty well so fingers crossed for the first trip to Le Mans in a week or so!

Haha
I was just about to post the same thing after googling to see the beast.

Hmmm
I hope you mean your first trip to Le Mans in the motorhome, as opposed to your first ever pilgrimage. If you dont buy an absolute shitter to get you there, and sleep in a leaky tent for at least the first few times you go, you're doing it wrong.

Hmm
Have you considered making it

"Teh offisshul B3TA rent-a-motorhome?"

You could make millions. Millions I tell's ye*

*or maybe just hundreds.

Agreed
Let me know if you decide to do it

Bessacarr
I used to sell bessacarrs for a living - certanly not a bad van to buy at all. Granted they have some niggly faults, but most will have been put right by the previous owner.
You are right in that they dont depreciate a huge amount after a few years, but they do cost a surprising amount in maintenance.
And the fuel economy will make you weep.
