Probably not to go out clubbing, but just to sit in and enjoy some.

My question to the panel is: assuming I can find some, considering I am about to enter my late 30s, and am now the owner of a flat, a long term girlfriend/fiancé, and do a 9-5 dull grey job - will it be fun, or just a rather sad nostalgia trip which will prove to be not as good as I remember?

If my experience is anything to go by
you'll just be disappointed.

Seems to me while you aren't necessarily conscious of it at the time, your surroundings have a big influence on the effect of the drugs.

I found the experience of smoking around a campfire with a big group of friends after a good day at the beach, and smoking at home by myself on a Saturday afternoon 10 years later was a completely different experience.

It doesn't take much of a leap to see the difference.

I've never tried it, but I quite like the idea of E.

Frind of mine says he took one at a party once, but didn't feel any effect. He left early and went home. When he got home he sat down and began thinking, and "sorted his life out".

He reckons it had quite a profound effect, and although he never tried it again that one experience had good long term consequences.

MDMA was first developed as a psychological "helper"
It was famously said that "one dose of MDMA is worth three months of counselling" (or something like that). And from personal experience I can tell you that it can be really useful; it allows you to think about your issues and problems clearly without being overwhelmed with negative emotions.

Of course, like all drug-fuelled self-analysis, there is a Golden Rule: never act on decisions made while high until you've sobered up. If they STILL seem like a good idea, go ahead. In my experience, they often did.

When I were a lad, we used to get smooth brown or green lumps, that you'd heat with a lighter and crumble into a joint.

The last stuff I bought (which admittedly wasn't in the UK), was a sort of grassy crap, full of seeds and stalks, but pressed into a cube. Didn't need to heat it though. I assume it was skunk, but as far as smoking it goes, it wasn't very nice at all.

Reason I'd always assumed this was true was that at the height of my fuckheadedness I got a load of drug testing kits (the type you wee on) from a nurse friend so that I could test myself the day after indulging. They'd always show a strong reading for amphetamines, and quite often a strong reading for opiates too (and a load of other stuff as well - barbiturates etc - quite frightening really the mix of stuff you're exposed to from having consumed what you think is one type of drug). Obviously though a sample group of one is not exactly scientific.

Going clubbing or whatever would probably be a disappointment -- too many things would be different or missing, as others have said. But with a group of loved and trusted friends, it would be just as good - possibly even better, since your friendships are likely to be stronger and deeper these days, what with that maturity thing I've heard so much about.

BTW I'm 47, stopped regular clubbing / pilling about 7 years ago, and often have the same thoughts.

It'll be a bit of both, really
if you get something decent.

A lot of "Crikey, yeah, I remember this! Why did I ever stop?" Then you'll hit the hangover the next day twice as bad as you used to and remember why you stopped.

As others have said, it'll depend on the crowd, too, whether it is a "sit and dance around, chat shit and enjoy it" night or whether it is a blinding night of missions and (mis)adventures.

And whether this lives up to the old days depends on what your nights out used to be like.

Pretty sure you'll enjoy it either way...tis the nature of the beast...and the good gear. It can't really go far wrong, and I'm pretty sure you're not going to be sat around halfway through the night a bit disappointed...that's just not how it works (unless you get ripped off)

My advice : 3am missions to play on the nearest swings and slides are ALWAYS a good idea.

Youll have a great time - even the pills are shit youll still get a buzz, and itll be lovely doing it with your mates again. Just pop em early on Friday night so you dont feel too shit for work on Monday. assuming you do 9-5 that is.
Also - if you dont have a nearby park (I concur on the swings and slides), then YouTube if your all-night friend.

a gramme lasts me about a year, including festivals, parties and special occasions

I've had lots of crystal MDMA, and it's either white or yellowish-white. MUCH better than pills, too, and works faster. You can even dissolve it in water.

Crystal Meth is Methamphetamine, or Nazi Crank
Developed by the runners-up in WWII to give their soldiers a bit of extra pep, it backfired to the point where (on one occasion) the squadron holding a building against the Russians got totally freaked out and paranoid, firing into the blackness of night. In the morning the Russians walked up to the building and took it because they'd totally run out of ammo. Allied forces had regular amphetamine, which although it can fuck you up, is nowhere near as strong. Crystal Meth is usually smoked or injected.

Crystal MDMA is completely unrelated except that it's a crystal. It's the active ingredient in pills, so essentially it's like taking a pill but without any of the rest of the crap that they mix into them. A couple of grains dissolved in a drink will do the trick.

Buy a G of Alphamethyltryptamine (AMT) from one of the more reliable research chemical vendors. The salt form starts around £65 on the gram the freebase a bit more as it's more potent (but a bit tough on the gut.)

Measure out 40 miligrams and bomb it. If you get the freebase then vaporisation or sticking up the bum avoids the stomach issue. (Also use about 25% less) Enjoy 10-14 hours of everything MDMA is trying and failing to be.

Double the dose gets colours and mild CEV but no trip like headfuck at all. You could talk to your mum on this stuff.

Makes your bones feel like they are filled with warm liquid happiness.
