This is a question Misheard and Misunderstood

Rachelswipe says: My niece - after months of begging - was finally allowed to get a hamster, and her grandfather was utterly horrified to learn that it had been called "Nipples", a pretty good name for a pet if you ask us. Alas, it was only the more mundane "Nibbles" - what have you misheard or misunderstood, with truly hilarious consequences?

people who measure success in physical objects have already failed at life

Whatever makes you feel better about your depressing ex-council semi
in a slum estate.

it's scant compensation
but at least I didn't take the kids to Florida in monsoon season

Bizarrely, it hasn't rained once...

is that why you bang on about your degrees and how much you apparently earn?

(, Mon 1 Sep 2014, 16:45, closed)
I suppose it might be if I'd mentioned either of those things more than twice in the decade or so I've been here.

(, Mon 1 Sep 2014, 16:49, closed)
twice a day more like

(, Mon 1 Sep 2014, 16:51, closed)
the fact that you think about this several times a day despite me never mentioning it is somewhat revealing

(, Mon 1 Sep 2014, 16:52, closed)
dear god man, you bleat on about it nonstop, it's dreadfully noveau
Never really occurred to me that I should be either proud or ashamed of owning houses.

It's just a consequence of being born with a big brain and earning money. I might as well be proud of my inside leg measurement. You have a very peculiar set of ideas about what it's actually like to be financially successful.

I know I'm bright.

I have a doctorate in something extremely complicated and I invent extremely clever things for large amounts of money for a living.

I don't want to sound mean or owt but I'm so far out of your intellectual league that we may as well be different species.

you can't possibly still be upset about the fact I can afford to spend money on frivolous things

it's been months, petal

Can I not be Switzerland?

I've got money and I'm quite tidy and racist.

That's very considerate but I'm rolling in it and already have a house over there.

Not sure why you don't have the money if trite cartoon furry pictures are comparable to renaissance cherubs though. It's almost as if ... you know ... that's a fatuous comparison.

I've accidentally managed to be successful and happy with a smashing family and a lot of money and a fun yet challenging career.

I've got lots of money.

Send envy.

I've never been described as anything less than "terribly handsome" in the real world.

I've always put that down to the fact that I'm terribly handsome. I'm also big and clever. And rich and successful. I can sing too. If I weren't me, I'd probably be riddled with envy. Fortunately, I am.

My scrubber credentials have slumped a little what with being educated and rich and sophisticated and ting.

I'd get my head kicked in for being an oo la la nancy boy.

I like my job.

I do interesting stuff and they pay me lots of money and at least several of my colleagues aren't total prickends.

If I weren't me, I'd almost certainly want to be my friend on the basis of all that.

Don't forget his charity work
or his good looks. Or him being over 6 foot.
