This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.
So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?
As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.
Revel in your own nerdiness.

No, not like that.
But it occurred to me that, in the wake of the Emperor's and Darth Vader's deaths, the rebel Alliance really ought to have detailed plans concerning how to govern the galaxy. With a power vacuum of that magnitude, the risks of internecine, galaxy-wide war seem immense.
This sort of thing worries me.

They sort that out in the expanded universe books. And yes. There were power struggles and galaxy wide wars. Good reads though :D Would be dull otherwise. Star Governance and Diplomacy doesn't have the same ring to it as Star Wars.

Also, the end of The Running Man dissatisfies me. Just showing people some of the corruption isn't enough to overthrow the government! The people who watched it will possibly grumble a bit about it, but they're just going to watch something else tomorrow. More like the public's reaction in The Truman Show.
And how long was Luke in the Degoba system? Doesn't seem like his time fits at all with the length of time experienced by the others. Possibly this is due to relativity effects, but I doubt it as these do not appear to be significant in the Star Wars universe. Is this, in fact, evidence that Luke was simply a sick young man experiencing vivid hallucinations? Nobody else living mentioned Yoda or acknowledged his existence. If he simply imagined/dreamt most of the Degoba experience (possibly even much of the flight time, since he's otherwise travelling a long way in what appears to be a short-distance craft), the timings could work out much more easily. If you take just the original 3 films, I see no reason to assume there are any Jedi tricks at all.
