Sorry old boy, 'cheeky Monty' is 'in da house' today.
Germany was never going to win the war at any point - this is something that has only become clear to me in the past year.

They never had the resources to back up their aggressive expansion, itself driven by the need to acquire the resources of their target countries. Their loss of the so-called Battle of Britain was a foregone conclusion: they couldn’t afford the fuel or bullets to compete. It’s worth bearing in mind that Germany was completely bankrupt and without assets in the 30s: it is impossible to try to take on the world in a war when you cannot afford to shoot back. If you read the communiqués from the German army to the government (especially the Luftwaffe’s) you can see the despair they felt at being forced into ludicrous Light Brigade-esque suicide attacks again and again simply because Hitler saw consolidation and/or tactical retreat as cowardice and taking on impossible odds at severe risk of massive casualties as ‘heroic’.

Once he (a mediocre foot soldier with zero tactical knowledge) assumed strategic command of the German military they were completely fucked. It pains me to admit he was a complete knob-end.

Like at Stalingrad, when they were trapped?
For my History A Level, my individual study was on the Battle Of Stalingrad. Makes me realise how much cooler the Russians ever were than the Germans. Fighting off ludicrous number of troops with few weapons, fucking fantastic.

Failure at Stalingrad was due to several factors
1) weather (did for Napoleon too)
2) poor resources (tanks that weren't suitable for the terrain as well as lack of air cover etc)
3) shit tactics - primarily the fact that they should not have been anywhere near there at that point, let alone fighting in the manner in which they were forced to
