Heeeere I come to save the daaaaay.
Mersey Mouse here, reporting for duty.
Methinks there's a mild hangover going on. I blame the gaffer.
Who do you blame?
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 7:17, 51 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
I blame society
But it never listens.

Good Morning Roots. How's you, beside the self inflicted hangover?
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 7:32, Reply)
I'm good ta Bart
I've got my mate coming to stay and I haven't seen her since she moved to Manchester in September.
We're going to the panto for FREE with FREE drinks.

How's yourself?
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 7:38, Reply)
I'm pretty good ta.
I'm not a lover of pantos I'm afraid, but FREE drinks are always welcome.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:11, Reply)
I'm not either
But I might get to make an inappropriate comment to either Les Dennis or Pamela Anderson.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:12, Reply)
Something like "Your breasts are made of plastic" to Les Dennis?
Or "Oooh Mavis" to Pamela.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:21, Reply)
I'd rather iron my face that attend a pantomime.

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:34, Reply)
Me and my mate will have a boss time
We'd never have paid to go and see it but we will find genuine joy from watching it.
I hear it's a mess, but Pamela can actually play sax.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:38, Reply)
Is this about The Zutons?

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:38, Reply)
POTM

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:41, Reply)
10000000% agree
pantomime is on a par with musicals
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:51, Reply)
I only have myself to blame
Although I only had half a bottle so the real problem was just staying up late.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 7:36, Reply)
I am a lightweight so maybe had two thirds

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 7:42, Reply)
Ah, I'm not really but I do need my sleep
so I need to be in bed by midnight on a school night.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:13, Reply)
I got curious, so I just watched the bloke who won X Factor singing his re-named Biffy Clyro single
Jesus Christ. Whining, straining, doing a poo? I dunno.
I'm glad that scouse girl didn't win. It's not my style but she can hold a tune, and maybe she'll go on to do something more interesting than this pap.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:06, Reply)
I'm now picturing a constipated Jesus Christ
"I like this!"
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:14, Reply)
I am inordinately pleased to say
I have absolutely no idea what you're on about. One of the best things about having lived alone for the past few years is that I am blissfully ignorant of the goings-on in 'The Square' or 'The Street' - and I have not seen a single 'person' being 'voted off' by anyone for fucking ages.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:28, Reply)
I wasn't aware of much of it until Sunday
because they put it on (with the sound turned down, fortunately) in the pub while I was working.
I though I'd have a listen, and I had to comment. He was dire. I mean, he can't sing.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:31, Reply)
Lowest-common-denominator shit in 'is shit' shocka

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:32, Reply)
I've heard previous winners
and whilst it's all shit, they have actually been able to sing in tune.
You really don't understand how bad it was.
Actually, Will Young was not shit at all. Sorry.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:36, Reply)
Yes he was. I would imagine he still is, too.

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:38, Reply)
I thought that trashy teenage girl would have won
I saw her audition and she was quite an assault on the ears.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:00, Reply)
I like to commit quite an assault on her rear*

* I must confess I don't know who you're on about or whether this person is even attractive or not
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:03, Reply)
I don't have a hangover, just general tiredness.
I'm finding it very weird to have pitch black at 4 in the afternoon, and waking up at 8 in the morning to see it's still fairly dark out.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:17, Reply)
whereabouts in Engerland are you now?

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:04, Reply)
Leeds - with Boss Keloid.
Tomorrow I go back to Blousie's.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:41, Reply)
Ze Jewss.
They stirred up anti-patriotic feelings amongst Germans during* and immediately after WWI and their secret domination of the world's finances kept decent, upstanding Germans in a monetary stranglehold until it was broken by the triumph of the will and the natural superiority of the Aryan bloodline.

That's what I heard, anyway.

*causing this once-great military nation to unthinkably lose ze war
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:26, Reply)
Nah, it was Hitler and his command that lost them the war
If they'd just been patient, and finished off France, then prepared themselves before going for Russia, they would have stood a much greater chance.
I've heard he would have only needed about another 6 weeks before France would fall.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:55, Reply)
Right. Thanks for that.
I don't actually know very much about military history so your helpful facts are really very much appreciated.

(!)
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:08, Reply)
Hahaha!

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:10, Reply)
Thank you for your input
In no way did I expect any extra facts, maybe an aspect i'd missed.

I'm aware you know about WW2, clearly more than me. That's why I wrote that, to see if you had anything else to include?
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:36, Reply)
Sorry old boy, 'cheeky Monty' is 'in da house' today.
Germany was never going to win the war at any point - this is something that has only become clear to me in the past year.

They never had the resources to back up their aggressive expansion, itself driven by the need to acquire the resources of their target countries. Their loss of the so-called Battle of Britain was a foregone conclusion: they couldn’t afford the fuel or bullets to compete. It’s worth bearing in mind that Germany was completely bankrupt and without assets in the 30s: it is impossible to try to take on the world in a war when you cannot afford to shoot back. If you read the communiqués from the German army to the government (especially the Luftwaffe’s) you can see the despair they felt at being forced into ludicrous Light Brigade-esque suicide attacks again and again simply because Hitler saw consolidation and/or tactical retreat as cowardice and taking on impossible odds at severe risk of massive casualties as ‘heroic’.

Once he (a mediocre foot soldier with zero tactical knowledge) assumed strategic command of the German military they were completely fucked. It pains me to admit he was a complete knob-end.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:56, Reply)
Like at Stalingrad, when they were trapped?
For my History A Level, my individual study was on the Battle Of Stalingrad. Makes me realise how much cooler the Russians ever were than the Germans. Fighting off ludicrous number of troops with few weapons, fucking fantastic.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 10:01, Reply)
Failure at Stalingrad was due to several factors
1) weather (did for Napoleon too)
2) poor resources (tanks that weren't suitable for the terrain as well as lack of air cover etc)
3) shit tactics - primarily the fact that they should not have been anywhere near there at that point, let alone fighting in the manner in which they were forced to

Hello Roota.
I have a cold, a general malaise but no hangover today.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:26, Reply)
I have a sore throat and a bit of snot.
I'm hoping this is as far as it goes.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:32, Reply)
I blame whichever cunt stole my drink this morning
Yes, it's only a bottle of water, but I didn't have time to get to the shop this morning, because I didn't think I needed to get anything. Now have a full day without any drinks. Not happy about this at all.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:42, Reply)
It was me! Hee hee!

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:44, Reply)
do you not have a tap at work?

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:55, Reply)
Don't be so insensitive.
The poor soul lives in the north.

He probably has to walk five miles with a leaky bucket on his head just to get enough water for t'mangle (or something).
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:05, Reply)
We do, but it's absolutely disgusting, sadly.

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 10:08, Reply)
I blame the parents.
Well, mine definitely.
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:44, Reply)
I blame the girl who came to pole class last night for my despair
she already attends another class and has a pole at home and she pretty much handed my ass to me. I can't teach her when she can do things I can't, so now I feel all full of fail. And my back hurts from trying to compete with her.

Can you send for a waaaambulance please Roota?
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:54, Reply)
Why did she come then?

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:56, Reply)
I really don't know
she sent me a message on facebook asking about my class, saying she attends one but is looking for another one. The teacher at her other class is at around the same level as me so maybe she was hoping that I would be better. I guess I'll know if she turns up again. I feel like I've failed her though, she must have thought I was a bit rubbish. There's plenty of stuff I can tell her how to do, I just can't demonstrate it all
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 8:58, Reply)
She was a special agent hired by Psychochomp to destroy your self-esteem.

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:00, Reply)
this wouldn't surprise me.
she was really pretty too waaaaaaah
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:00, Reply)
You could invite her back as a guest instructor?

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:04, Reply)
I'm scowling at you now

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:04, Reply)
Sorry!
Just a thought
(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:06, Reply)
You're surrounded by stoopid bitchez.

(, Tue 14 Dec 2010, 10:23, Reply)
Today I'm going to blame everyone in a bah humbug style
I've got shitloads of work on and no time to do it in (hence I'm on here). However, Christmas party on Wednesday then a night out on Friday (once I have sorted childcare) should bring a good end to the week
