How you doing berk?
Feeling brighter?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:40, Reply)
Meh
a bit. Better than this morning at least.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:42, Reply)
At least you won't have that feeling of dread going into work tomorrow.
The worst of the situation is done.

So that should help, yes? And it's a bit warmer than it has been too.

*Roots for berk*

can someone give me the synopsis of this story please?
what's happened at berks work?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:47, Reply)
I'm sure berk will gaz you, rather than out herself on here.
assuming she wants to go through the work story again
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:49, Reply)
Yeah, the worst is over I guess
I just cannot believe the shitawful luck of it. And it was warmer but is getting chillier again! On the plus side though, I am tucked up in bed with my electric blanket on full whack, and I'm seeing hot bloke on Friday and I will be drunk and wearing an extremely nice dress.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:48, Reply)
Listen to an old man.
You'll make a better impression on people, if you don't arrive at an event 9 pints to the good, and then carry on drinking.

Start off sober.

Here ends the announcement.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:51, Reply)
Haha, I'm at my works christmas do
which I will remain relatively sober for and leave relatively early, and I am seeing him afterwards.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:54, Reply)
Which means
You'll drink too much and turn up drunk for HB.

Going on two boozey-doo's in a day doesn't mean the second one will be memorable!
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:56, Reply)
Oi, not all of us drink like a fish you know!
I shall be light-to-middling-tipsy before I take him to the cocktail place, and then just plain drunk after. But so will he be.
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:00, Reply)
How drunk will you let him get before you jump him?
I assume you'll be expecting him to perform?
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:02, Reply)
I haven't decided
but it is potentially on the cards, assuming I don't get all shy and embarrassed.
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:07, Reply)
Don't worry about your performance! Worry about his!
If you're up for HB, sober or drunk, then take full advantage!

I actually wanted to punch the woman
she was massively unhelpful. No left luggage option so I had to watch some nice clothing and stuff get thrown away. I gave the whisky to a cleaner though, he was pretty happy.

Edit: how did it go?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:41, Reply)
That's awful.
Sorry to hear that.

Was that Ryanair?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:42, Reply)
yeah
they're the only one that flies to my destination in Ireland
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:43, Reply)
And therefore, they probably realise they can be complete cunts.
Was a later flight not an option? Or was the distance between the airport and home too great?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:44, Reply)
only one flight there a day
and I'd have had to go back to Oxford, since I refuse to spend another night in Luton. I'm pissed off about the clothes there was some decent stuff there. I managed to salvage some by layering myself in four dresses, two pairs of leggings, jeans, a jumper and a hoodie around my waist. I looked like the Michelin Man (or Amberl after Sunday roast)
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:46, Reply)
Was flying from Bristol not an option? Or is the transfer too difficult?

(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:47, Reply)
Bristol just goes to Cork
Luton/Ryanair is the only place sadly. Plus I was broke so I had to get the flight that'd been prebooked.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:51, Reply)
I didn't realise RyanAir had stopped the Bristol to Dublin route.
In a previous job, I used it most weeks.

That both sucks and blows in equal measures.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:52, Reply)
Oh man that is devastating :(
I would have simply put the extra clothes on and flicked bag lady lookalike V's at the evil cow. I simply cannot believe you had to watch your stuff get chucked, I'm so sorry :(
There was shouting and it was all a bit shit but I didn't get fired. And I found that eyeshadow thing I was on about, so that cheered me up.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:46, Reply)
see above as to the clothes
I wanted to cry a little bit when I saw the t-shirts and knickers going (they were the things least easy to wear haha)

She tried to make me weigh my hand luggage as well.

I'm very glad you didn't get fired, any word on the phd?
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:49, Reply)
I'm very glad too!
No word yet but I really really don't think I've got it. Ryanair really are a terrible bunch of cunts - I think I would probably explode if I had to chuck away several kg of my stuff.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:53, Reply)
At least the cleaner got a present
I hope it brightened his day somewhat.

Yeah I was quite angry. Then because of the stress etc my legs buckled under me after I got through security and I ended up on the floor. I had to ask for help to get to my gate :(
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 23:55, Reply)
Write to them and voice your distress.
It might not get you anything, but it might result in a free flight.
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:03, Reply)
^this
play up the "your customer service representative was an utter cunt" angle. Mention other options for flying to Ireland (leave out the part where they don't work for you).
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:42, Reply)
Christ you've had a really shit day :(
still though - home safe and sound now I hope?
(, Thu 16 Dec 2010, 0:09, Reply)
yeah thanks
tucked up in bed with laptop. Bit cold though. I was just a bit down because it's very rare for me to have to resort to assistance.
