but the Excel thing is for work, and I somehow have to learn VBA within the next 24 hours. I can't even write a basic macro so this should be fun!

do what every programmer does and copy and paste from google.
That or record simple keystroke macros and have a look inside the VB to see if you can understand it.

I've looked into the VB editor
and get it, but have never used it and have never written macros. It's a case of jumping in at the deep end and then I'll have to go back and "look" at what we're doing in the office. Last minute thing. Long, incredibly boring story but it's a case of someone has to do it.

Just make sure you make a copy of whatever you're working on 'cus if you wipe out all the data, then you're big-time fucked.
Or even worst, fuck up the data in a way you didn't expect but it still looks partially correct.
