You have to take the rough with the smooth
It's been about 18 months since the last big crash (shredded most of my right arm) so I was sort of due one. You do get a few accidents from time to time, but all the good days more than make up for the occasional week spent limping. In Karmic terms this is probably the payback for the days spent on lovely sunny beaches in Scotland and Cornwall last year.

I don't know.
If I'm going to be anywhere in summer I'd prefer to be in a nice beer garden with minimal exertion and only a small risk of massive injury.

Yes
But you feel so much better if you can persuade yourself that you've done something to deserve the beer first ;)

For example, I spent large parts of this summer at beer festivals, but I cycled there.

You've got it all wrong
Summer days are for lazing. Fact.

Although interestingly enough (I use the term loosely) I remembered something after I posted the last reply.

I've fallen over onto the same knee three times (at least) in the past month (all pissed) and now my knee still hurts and if I press it I can feel stuff moving which shouldn't move. So my theory about not doing myself permanent damage in a beer garden may require some revision.

I used to do a lot of lazing
Until this summer, when I took up cycling in order to lose a bit of weight. After a while I really started to enjoy it, and now I actually get quite fidgety if all I have to do in a day is laze about.

That said, I still don't like getting up before noon.

I'm not really lazy
I just hate physical exercise. I'd rather be reading about things that interest me or writing. I've always been that way though, and I can't see it changing. I'm pathetically unhealthy.

That's not an option for me, sadly
With my eating and drinking habits, I'd end up looking like fat Al inside a year.

Anyway, off to bed now for some lazing about...
