Why not take your twenty quid to 'Sports Direct'
You'll be able to buy loads of stuff, you might even find something that'll be useful!

Take it to Lidl
and you'll eat for a month.

Eww, no thanks!
although I have signed myself up to run a half marathon this year, perhaps sportswear wouldn't be such a bad idea...
But still. No, I'm going to buy something pretty.

Are you running a half marathon for any particular charity, or just for the personal challenge?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 14:14, Reply)
*cough*
said I'd do it last year and didn't get fit enough. So no, it's just for the personal challenge. I did do a 10km run for Cancer Research UK though, and cycled the Coast to Coast.

Good for you.
What training are you doing?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 14:20, Reply)
Well I cycle in to work
which is a 6 mile round trip every day, and I guess I'll just have to go jogging a bit more often and for a bit further. I don't have a program or owt. I haven't done any exercise since the first lot of snow in mid December though, so it's going to be a fucking killer when I do finally get out.

When in the year is the half marathon?

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 14:24, Reply)
Erm. April
So I'd better get a wiggle on. I've cunningly chosen one I know is completely flat, though.

Good work.
How did you get roped into signing up for it?
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:06, Reply)
I didn't
it was voluntary. The 10km run I did last year though, a friend signed me up because I'd been moaning about not doing enough exercise, and she was like: right then, you've got til June to be able to run 10km. At the time I could barely run 10m!
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:10, Reply)
I struggle to run a bath.

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:13, Reply)
well at least part of me stays healthy
my nose is always running
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:15, Reply)
I can't even run a night out

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:16, Reply)
*There there*

(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:18, Reply)
Of course you can :)
it will be an evening made of win.

It might be an idea
if we all go for food first haha
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:27, Reply)
I thought we were?
Noodle Nation, then a pub crawl? Then back to yours for semi-conscious carbs, more booze (and sleep for the non-hardcore, ie, me)
(, Mon 3 Jan 2011, 15:31, Reply)
That's the plan :)
I wasn't sure if I'd shared it with all yet
