You've got to have a European adventure at some point K.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:38, Reply)
this exactly.
I'm having a ball on mine. I LOVE it.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:49, Reply)
Would you say you've changed as a result of your travels?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:52, Reply)
I'd hope so
She'd be a bit stinky otherwise.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:56, Reply)
definitely.
I'm a lot more confident, for starters. And I can now sleep on a floor, a sofa, a train car, a bus, on people's shoulders and almost on a station bench (I was very tired).
And I'm better at just taking care of myself and knowing when to stop and have a break.

I was actually just thinking about going to get my passport.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:49, Reply)
Do it,
You passport will be valid for 10 years and you'll be able to take advantage - at short notice - of any opportunities to travel that come up.

You've mentioned India as somewhere you'd like to go before, why not cheer yourself up and plan a trip and then see if you can work out when it would be feasible to travel.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:52, Reply)
apparently white american women should not travel in India alone
I blame Julia Roberts
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:59, Reply)
Well plan a European adventure then!

I only want to go to the UK really.
And I keep talking about it but I haven't done yet, mostly down to the fact that I'm horrible at saving money.
Plus I'm a big scaredy cat.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:05, Reply)
What worries you about coming to the UK?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:06, Reply)
all the hoodies
not really, it's more of a fear of being raped and murdered that my dad has instilled in me since I was a kid
I'm afraid to travel anywhere, really
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:16, Reply)
I've walked about in Watts
And not felt threatened.

Every Country and every City has scary bits. Stay away from them, you'll be right.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:25, Reply)
I'm going to Virginia this year
Nowhere near you, though - you'll be pleased to hear.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 18:52, Reply)
oooh where you going??

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:00, Reply)
Manassas
Civil War thing.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:01, Reply)
That's actually VERY near me.
As in half hour away.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:04, Reply)
Thought you lived in Richmond.
I'm on a two day battlefield tour - early October.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:10, Reply)
Definitely don't. I live about 40 miles west.
That's pretty cool, are you re-enacting?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:14, Reply)
No
Just fascinated - there's four of us travelling over. Three are going to NASCAR in Charlotte, NC. I'm doing the battlefield thing, then we meet up again in Washington and head to Detroit.

Edit - where do you live then?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:18, Reply)
NASCAR
Are they trying to find the best way to never want to visit America again?

I live here
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 19:24, Reply)
They love car racing
Plus, one of my mates works in the UK office of a company based in NJ and they get free tickets.
