2 quid for 3d glasses in the pub! ridiculous.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:03, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
They saw you coming.
(In natural 3d)
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:04, Reply)
Was it worth it?
Did you pay? Or did you just squint and tilt your head a bit?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:04, Reply)
He used the wrappers from two different Quality Street chocolates over his eyes.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:05, Reply)
yeah, but he used the foil ones
and looked like a right dick
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:07, Reply)
no change there then

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:08, Reply)
Oi! I'm reading this you know. I have feelings!

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:09, Reply)
really?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:10, Reply)
nah, you're grand. Crack on.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:11, Reply)
hahahaha

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:09, Reply)
I don't think you can do that any more
They don't look the same, these new 3D glasses.

I wouldn't know, I haven't watched anything in new 3D.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:08, Reply)
truth speaker.
It's different tech now.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:13, Reply)
I thought so
I can't use them anyway, so new 3D can fuck right off.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:15, Reply)
do you have special eyes?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:17, Reply)
I'm incredibly short sighted
And no amount of techno-wizadry is going to make me sit in a pub with sunglasses over my normal glasses. None.

Unless Jake Gyllenhaal appears naked in football now?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:20, Reply)
nope sorry

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:23, Reply)
Dammit
At least I won't get conned into paying £2 for 3D glasses though.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:25, Reply)
I kept them though so it's an investment of sorts.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:30, Reply)
You'll forget them next time you go to the pub.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:33, Reply)
He'll wear them when he is out and about, just to get full value out of them!

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:48, Reply)
I bet he looks great in them

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:50, Reply)
Especially with his Mexican wrestling mask under them.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:51, Reply)
Wearing a cape
A green one.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:53, Reply)
Nah it was good cause all the sofas were empty in the 3d zone
(meaning we were the only spastics who paid for it) but great view yeah, dull boring result though.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:08, Reply)
But what does football look like in 3D?
I'm going to assume you won anyway, because my housemate just came home with his friend and sang my name at me in a high-pitched tone for ages until I threw a book at him because I was trying to listen to something.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:09, Reply)
What does football look like in 3d?
Cold (usually) and it smells of Bovril.

(Or at least it would, if Bob bothered supporting a local club, rather than being a glory-hunter and rarely getting to games).
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:10, Reply)
Ha ha ha
Urgh, I'm having flashbacks to when I was a kid and used to have a season ticket. The smell of Bovril is disgusting.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:16, Reply)
Who did you go and support?
(Tell ya, since they banned smoking, football smells completely different, the waft of cigars floating over the terracing was a football smell).
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:18, Reply)
Bradford City, for my sins.
I miss it in a way. I don't miss the numb bum and crushing disappointment though.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:21, Reply)
I've been to Valley Parade a few times over the years.
It's a strange place Bradford. Very big on the Nissan Sunny (or at least it was when I was last there).
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:23, Reply)
Aw, it's lovely here
As long as you don't leave the mile around my house. I have established a safe zone.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:25, Reply)
I've not been there for several years now.
How many years were you a season ticket holder?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:27, Reply)
Probably six or seven
I was mad keen on football when I was a nipper. Now... not so much. I miss going to the games though
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:33, Reply)
You should make the effort to go again.
You might enjoy it!
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:35, Reply)
There's always spare tickets knocking about
But I work Saturday afternoons. Even if I didn't, it's far too cold for that experiment just yet. I think what I miss is spending the whole day with my dad and getting bought loads of stuff. We never used to see him for the next of the week.

/whiny childhood rant
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:38, Reply)
Well if you get the chance for any reason, take it!
You can't beat the atmosphere of a live football match.

Maybe you'll get Leeds in the cup next season?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:47, Reply)
I hope not
My pub's pretty much evenly split between City fans and failed-gloryhunting-twats. The tension might be too much, we'd all kill each other.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:49, Reply)
Well maybe in the interest of safety
The landlord will close the pub for the day, meaning you can go to the match?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:50, Reply)
Yeah but one half of the pub would never let the other half forget it
And plus, are you MAD? Shut a pub?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:54, Reply)
Depends if the damage caused would be more than the profit!

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:55, Reply)
This is true
But surely the more damage is done, the more people have drunk in the first place?
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:59, Reply)
It looks good for close ups and angles across the pitch but the wide lense shots
aren't great/ It's better for rugby as it's such a lateral game.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:12, Reply)
Where did you go?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:09, Reply)
The Sportsman off of Gloucester Road.
I like it in there.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:12, Reply)
By the cricket ground?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:15, Reply)
yup Neville Road.
Have you been before? It's good.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:16, Reply)
Been there in a the past before cricket.
Bit of a Gas pub though, so I tend to avoid it, unless I'm going to the cricket.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:17, Reply)
Yeah of course, you're not welcome on our patch.

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:20, Reply)
What? Highbury?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:21, Reply)
No the Mem. I like Rovers a bit too. And it's the Emirates you goon

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:23, Reply)
I know you mean around the Mem.
The home of Bristol Rubgy.

Every away game I've done at the Mem, I've been forced to get a bus from Ashton Gate to the Mem and back again.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:26, Reply)
really? is that cause you're al lchav scummers?

(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:29, Reply)
Works both ways.
We've had the same arrangement with the games against Cardiff and Swansea is recent years.

APPARENTLY we can't all be trusted not to get drunk and knock 7 shades of shit out of each other.
(, Wed 5 Jan 2011, 23:31, Reply)
everyone loves a good scrap every now and again though
Always exciting.
