It's a beautiful place and far away from the madding crowd.
I'd get a crofters cottage and keep some animals and paint and stuff.

I was going to suggest the lakes, since they're relatively easy to get to
But they're in england.. Perhaps you could get a cheap flight to Jersey or somewhere? It's probably easier than getting buses up to the middle of nowhere in scotland..
