art deco art is ok
I can't fucking stand most of the furniture though. particularly that mirrored stuff.

I love the simple elegance of it
but saying that, I wouldn't decorate my house art deco. It's probably more suited to large 1920's hotels.

I think it is more the choice of materials
the really shiny orange wood with all the grain showing just doesn't appeal. Or the horrible horrible mirrored stuff.

my brother's house is 1920's
They had loads of lovely original furniture. Now they have 3 kids so it's all given way to plastic toys and shite

Actually now i remember their xmas present to me is an old photo of the inside of a theatre from the 1920's with the lovely old seats etc. It's stunning.

Some of the buildings are awful, have you seen the hoover building (aka the tesco building) on the a40? It is the only grade one listed art deco building in the uk and... Well, i'd nuke it.
