I was distinctly underwhelmed by the Sistine Chapel. In fact by the whole of the Renaissance stuff at the Vatican. After the first 100 pictures of bearded cunts in robes being awed by the power of the fucking Lord it starts to wear a little thin. By the time you reach the chapel it's a case of 'yes, very good, Biblical scene blah blah'.

I've never travelled there, when we were in Italy, Rome was going through a heatwave, so we decided against it
We went to Florence though, where I saw Michaelangelo's David, that was absolutely astonishing.

Although we made sure we all had a line in the Vatican just to be able to say we'd all had a line in the Vatican.

I was there for football, it's the law you have to act a twat on such occasions.
I'm just commenting on what I saw, we didn't go sightseeing except for a couple hours on the last day when we had a bit of time to kill. I stand by my point, a lot of it is a shithole. Some of the architecture there was stunning, mind boggling even, but from walking round most of the streets I thought it was really run down, dirty and horrible.
