Pendulum or Chase & Status. Is it worse to sell out by peddling infantile nu metal with a DnB backdrop, or to sell out by peddling lowest common denominator chart shit?
I can't decide which of those two groups of cynical hypocrites to sneer at more.
Monty- can you advise please?

Is abstract the right word? I picked a random one that sounded poncy in this context. I mean, different people like different things, it doesn't make anyone better or worst.
Boy George's new single is on BBC 'breakfast' at the moment, it's seriously shit, I can't imagine people enjoying it, it's dull. But if they do, that's fair enough, different people like different things.
I guess my favorite heavy metal band is Linken Park or maybe Offspring.

I love all sorts of stuff, highbrow and lowbrow. I'm a confirmed postmodernist in that respect.
It's the music I sneer at, not the listeners.

The suggestion that you don't sneer at people who listen to Pendulum is not only laughably untrue but can be provably contradicted via documented evidence in this very forum.
Now fuck off.

Previously was me being puckish. I was going through a bad patch.
Seriously, I apologise for the episode you are referring to. It was out of order and cockish. Having said that though, I am unapologetic re. finding Pendulum to be very very silly.

Each to their own as regards Pendulum, you and I just going to disagree on this one

since seeing Pendulum in the summer at a festival I have been sneering my hardest in their direction.
I am not familiar with the others

So if they're shit there, there's no hope.

and consisted of the wanker MC bellowing at the crowd "make some fucking noise!" every few seconds, among other such stupid shoutings.
It was like being at a particularly shit and loud pikey fairground.

I saw Benga DJing a while back, he was tremendous but had a terrible MC foisted on him. The wanker 'sang' the melody to Night and fucking ruined it.

although a bit dull.

They manipulated a lot of their songs so that they sounded different to how they are on disc, and the set list was fairly varied. The MC was fucking irritating though.

I've been going through my old CDs and the only things that come close to heavy enough was Spineshank and Tool. Even Korn, with tuned down 7 string guitars, thrashing them and screaming "Shut up, shut up, shut up I'll fuck you up" wasn't doing the trick.
I need you to recommend me some really heavy stuff. You know the things I like, so I leave it in your capable hands. I have a meeting now though, so gaz me. Thank you.

I pity them, mainly.

Some guy I know once told me that Pendulum were like the Def Leppard of Metal music. I liked them when I saw them live (Pendulum) though.
