alt: Narziss and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse
Portrait of the Artist As a Young Man by James Joyce
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Life Is Elsewhere by Milan Kundera

perhaps so
One person I know who liked the road reckoned it was more affective if you had or at least liked kids

I suppose that would make it resonate more but it's pretty universal
