I've been looking forward to super bowl but have been told today that my dog will have to be locked up in my room while people are over
which will be for about seven hours
so I reckon I won't be watching it

Why can't the dog mingle with your Super Bowl guests?

because she gets mega excited and jumps on people sometimes
there will be a baby and an old man
so I'll have to take her elsewhere until around midnight

Well keep her on the lead when people first arrive
And then you can correct her behaviour as necessary until the dog calms down.

No, I can't.
I was told I needed to keep her locked in her cage if she will be at the house when people are there.

On friday, on Facebook, my local animal shelter had a horrific story of an abused dog that got left outside it's doors.
When I read the story, my heart melted, and it was payday, so I gave them a few bob (more than what I've ever given to charity before). I almost got weepy at it, at work, as my head wasn't right last week at all. But then inside 4 hours they hit their target and then now they're at 250% of their target. But over the weekend, another dog also got left, that needed a massive leg operation, and they didn't have to put it down 'cus they had the money to treat it properly and it's really restored my faith in the world a little bit. Plus I got quite a few 'likes' on my reply to their pictures on their FB, which is always good validation =D

=)
I think I'll do something like that every month. The good Karma is totally worth it.

That's really good.
I had to call about a dog once because it was left outside with no shelter other than an old truck to lay under, it hadn't been washed in ages and was always outside. Made me sad.

The cypriot-turks can be really bad at that.
I've seen in villages, dogs kept in shacks in fields, and far worst. It makes me want to take all these dogs away.
