I'm not sure why but I didn't think you taught photography.

oh tosh
that's pretty cool
I've got a friend that thinks she's a photographer because she has a fancy new camera.
She's stupid.

haha
there are a lot of people claim to be photographers now digital SLRs are affordable. The number of terrible wedding photographers is pretty depressing, too.

She's constantly posting pictures on facebook saying shes building her portfolio for her photography business
the pictures are really just not good, most of them are digitally altered, I don't know how to describe it, where you can change the color of the photo to blue or purple.
I'm like, this looks like something I could to at the photo stand at the pharmacy.

Do you develop your own photos?
It's really cool that you teach photography.

There seems to be a whole load of people
just over processing stuff these days and there are certain things that keep turning up, usually HDR or just whacking up the contrast too high - my guess is a filter of some kind on hers. That or just pissing with colour balance.

I haven't developed any of my own in ages - but we teach B&W processing and printing (and I used to do it as a job) and we recently got in chemicals to process colour (mostly because me and the other lecturer thought it'd be fun)

It's a freaking awesome job (aside from all the bureaucracy)

Everyone knows the best type of HDR
Is made by merging the constituent parts of 3 different photos. Photoshop is far too readily available and usable these days, that people just take photos and play with them to look fancy.

but mostly they do it badly
that's the worst part. And people don't always realise it's bad
