Thanks berk.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:36, Reply)
Why don't you make her your new internet wife?

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:39, Reply)
I wouldn't like to arm wrestle Blousie for him
she's bigger'n me.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:42, Reply)
Oh man, I'd love to watch you two wrestling.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:47, Reply)
Haha, I'm not sure we could
it would mostly be BGB sitting on me whilst I flail ineffectually.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
This is an excellent mental image

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
Perhaps we should do it
charge an admission fee, and that's that trip to Goa paid for...
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:56, Reply)
I think an "entry" fee would be more appropriate

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:03, Reply)
I see

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:35, Reply)
It was beyond shit.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:36, Reply)
Not the best season for you lot.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:39, Reply)
No. Down to 19th now.
On the plus side, I was in the bookies pre-match and one of their betting markets was 'both teams to score' from a list of about 25 games.

It was paying 9/1 if you selected 4, 17/1 for 5 28/1 for 6 correct and 40/1 if you picked 7.

I've just checked my betting slip and my £3.00 stake is now a £143.00 win.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:44, Reply)
Not so 'fucking shit' after all, then?

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:47, Reply)
I could have had a bet and not gone to the football.
That would have been better.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:48, Reply)
Don't you have a season ticket though?
So it's not like it cost you anything to go, and how can watching your team suck balls be any worse than hearing about it? At least you benefitted from it in some way.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Season ticket costs about £400 a year
So if I don't go, it's wasted money.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
Sunk costs
you can't count those, Jeff, that's a mugs game. Economics 101.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:33, Reply)
praise the little things.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:47, Reply)
It really hasn't cheered me up.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Arsenal won which is nice

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:50, Reply)
Who did you have this evening?

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Everton at home they went 1-0 up with an offside goal
before Arshavin and Koscielny scored for us.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:54, Reply)
I was tempted to add Arsenal to my list of selections, but I didn't see Everton scoring.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:56, Reply)
yeah well it was 2 yards offside cheating fucks

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:58, Reply)
Maybe the ref didn't understand the offside rule?

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:17, Reply)
You fucking miserable cunt
If someone gave me $140 I'd be fucking happy.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:51, Reply)
Me too
I'd do a massive fucking happy dance.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
They nice man at the Winning Post will get it all back over the next few weeks.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
Don't be a tit
I thought money was tight?
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:55, Reply)
Yeah, but anyone who places a £3 bet on such crazy set of results
clearly has a gambling problem.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:56, Reply)
£3.00
Is less than the cost of a pint, hardly problem gambling.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:57, Reply)
You just said you would mostly likely spend it all back at the bookies over the next few weeks
Firstly, gambling in the first place is such a totally nonsensical thing to do, but then if you do get a big win, you ought to take that as a lesson and not gamble again. The whole reason bookies exist is simply because you can never, ever win in the long run.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:02, Reply)
This, all of this in the world.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:04, Reply)
all this is true but it's still fun to stick on an accumulator for a couple of quid at the weekend.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:06, Reply)
Exactly this.
I know a few people who take their gambling very seriously and the money they lose (and win) us scarey. But these people are the type who will place a long priced bet and then lay off the risk by betting bigger sums on a more likely winner when things settle down.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:14, Reply)
To be honest.
It is unlikely I'll give it all back to the bookie. I'll probably spend some of the money on cider and curry.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:11, Reply)
*sigh*
How is the whole job thing going, anyway?
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:14, Reply)
It's quite interesting at the moment.
Contracts are still too short for me to be comfortable signing a 6 month lease on a place though, but there are a fair number of things out there to consider.

Any PhD news today?
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:15, Reply)
You've said pretty much that every time I've asked
what I actually mean when I ask is, have you actually applied for stuff and got interviews and things?
Still no news.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:17, Reply)
God yeah, I've had meetings with various recruiters (in fact, I had one this morning)
But I'm trying to make a major move, not fall back into the usual habit of 'get contract, work, be miserable'.

I'm trying to make some changes. I'm okay for a few months yet.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:21, Reply)

less than the cost of a pint? Blimey it's steep by Bristol way
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:04, Reply)
I paid 3.60 for a Stowford Press in a pub on the a38 near glos the other day

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:09, Reply)
*shock*

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:10, Reply)
Three quid is less than the cost of a pint though.
How much is beer round your way?
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:09, Reply)
£2.60 ish
not been out for a pint recently, though, since I'm usually driving
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:10, Reply)
2 pints is between 6 and 7 quid.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:17, Reply)
That's bloody ridiculous
although it's roughly the same in some of the pubs near me.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:17, Reply)
You get used to it.
Most pubs in Bristol have seen no change from six quid for a couple of pints for at least 18 months.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:22, Reply)
Can't I just whinge a bit this evening?
*Goes to get a cider*
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 22:57, Reply)
Whinge as much as you like
I still might judge you for it though :P
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:01, Reply)
Yeah, judge him berk, judge him HARD

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:08, Reply)
Al.
You've ruined my relationship with Blousie and now you're turning berk against me.

WHY?
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:10, Reply)
Because you're a tosser.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:11, Reply)
I think I'll have to be now.

(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 23:16, Reply)
