Makes sense
I've seen a few I like, so shall keep some in mind. I saw one I liked, but it went against my rule of No Band Tattoos. It's up there with the No Girlfriend Names.

Don't get a tattoo because you kinda want one
Get one because you've seen something, or someone's work, that you NEED.

I like this advice!

Labs can be considered an authority on this, I think
No Band Tattoos is an excellent idea. After I got my only tattoo to date I was feverishly looking for something else I wanted done, and contemplated getting a KoRn tatt. As much as I loved them at the time, I'd be embarrassed by it now, so imagine what it'd be like when I'm 40 or 50.

I think something like a band character or icon is cool
Never a name though

My friend has an odd one
This is it. Those are the symbols for her favourite band, but unless you really know them, it's just a nice tattoo.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:26, Reply)
I like that a lot
but the symbols should be close together. What is the band?

N Dubz

The style of the tattoo is excellent

Thanks for the compliment!
Most kind.

It's only fair
I'd hope people would talk to me about stretching a carteledge piercing, for example, or dealing with being called gay all day every day, so I assume you're happy to distribute tattoo advice
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:35, Reply)
Always happy to, even though I'm no expert, just have an avid interest.
I have no desire to stretch my cartilage piercing (Industrial) because I have enough bloody problems with it as it is. I've contemplated removing it several times now, it's always sore even 9 months after being pierced, and bleeds a fair bit (must keep catching it or knocking it when I sleep).

Yeah I'd definitely leave that mate!
I'm glad I did mine, very happy with it now, but fucking hell it hurt
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:48, Reply)
My mate stretched her septum
Said it hurt dicktons more than getting it pierced did, and my septum was probably the most intense pain I've had in a piercing.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:54, Reply)
That's the rule I'm sticking to now
Unless I see something that'll really jump out at me, I'm not going to bother.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:20, Reply)
Don't be afraid to look at general styles as well
Find artists whose work you love, and talk to them about getting something unique done in their style, rather than a cool symbol (which I'm not knocking, I've got a few small symbol tatts that I love).
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:27, Reply)
Cheers, shall definitely keep it in mind
I want to have a couple of small ones, at least.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:30, Reply)
I love my small tattoos
But am looking to incorporate them somehow into my next sleeve.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:33, Reply)
Have you got any pics of your tattoos?
I'm intruiged to see them
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:34, Reply)

Here's a pic of my sleeve just after it was finished. It's easily the 'best' tattoo I have, in terms of quality.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:37, Reply)
That is cool
Crazy Inca/Mexican looking
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:39, Reply)
Thanks!
It's Polynesian, but a lot of the style is similar to traditional Incan/Aztec tattoos, in that they both use a lot of geometric patterns.
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:44, Reply)
I saw a guy in the pool at Centreparcs
who had a massive Inca type head on his upper arm. It looked fucking brilliant!
(, Wed 2 Feb 2011, 13:47, Reply)
Cool!
I'm thinking my next sleeve will be by Tomas Tomas or Xed le Hed.
