Alright?
I'm a bit confused tonight. One of my friends has caught that 'Gypsy Wedding' program, and is now stating about how much he hates gypsies. Others are agreeing with him, including one lad writing (and I quote) - "I say we actually make suicide bombers due good for a change and set them on their gypos asses".

A few things concern me about this. The main one is that I'm fairly confident that my friend has never even MET a Gypsy, let alone had a problem with one. The others who are agreeing, I also find somewhat odd. Plus, I abhor racism, while also finding the idea of it hilarious. (Your skin is a different colour from his, therefore you're better? Fuck off.)

Aside from that concern, I'm fucked off I've run out of Marmite.

How is it possible to run out of Marmite?
Surely that is a physical impossibility? that stuff lasts a lifetime. You must have had at least 6 months notice that you were running low.

why would you want Marmite in the first place, is what I'm concerned about.
that stuff is vile.

Either you love it or you hate it.
What new food-stuffs did you learn to love/hate during your European adventure? Or were you just desperate for a packet of Tim Tams the whole time?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:41, Reply)
actually I got quite desperate for Shapes.
they're like a savoury flavoured biscuit, and I didn't see anything like them on my trip, except ONCE, up in wakefield where I found pizza flavoured ones in ASDA.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:06, Reply)
I've never heard of them.
What are they?

What did you think of fish and chips, covered in batter with vinegar and salt and mushy peas?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:08, Reply)
they're yummy, that's what they are.
I don't eat fish or mushy peas, but I loved the vinegar and salted chips. :D

How did the jetlag recovery go last night/this morning?
Did you sleep longer than the 6.30 wake-up
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:18, Reply)
aha nope.
wide awake now. writing out lists of things to take to uni... I'm currently on clothes, and next up is shoes and then books. But it won't take long and I'm BORED. Need to learn something.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:21, Reply)
You need to learn to sleep
As well as working out how you can make it back over the water for your next visit!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:22, Reply)
aha I'm actually thinking I'm going to apply to Oxford Brookes for my final year of uni.
it'd work for a number of reasons - not least of which my uni has a direct exchange program with them.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:24, Reply)
Isn't that a hugely expensive way of doing your final year?
Or are the uni fees in Aus similar to the fees here?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:27, Reply)
pretty much!
I'll be paying the same whether I stay here or go overseas...
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:36, Reply)
Marmite is magnificent!

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:47, Reply)
Marmite is Satan's diarrhoea.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:49, Reply)

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:51, Reply)
It's the extra strong stuff too
Was magnificent!

Sadly I can't afford to get any more until month end!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:45, Reply)
I've never tried the extra strong.
Is it nice? (And how much more expensive it it from the normal?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:48, Reply)
It's very nice, it's a much deeper flavour than the normal
It's very expensive though, one for the enthusiasts!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Thing is
I don't need more than one jar of marmite in at anyone time, but when the current one is gone, I might be tempted with the 'strong'.

Is it that much better?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:53, Reply)
I think it is.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:54, Reply)
Well if they are still making it
Then I'll buy it next time.

(If it's shit, I'll blame you)
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:56, Reply)
I too find racism both repugnant and hilarious.
Hence my love of Bernard Manning.
