Half an hour
And that's your lot.

Go on then - natter.

I've got my dinner in the oven.
Beat THAT for excitment.

I have my first ever drum lesson tomorrow
Despite having been playing for 3 years. PWNED!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:05, Reply)
What do you think you'll learn?
Most of the best drummers were self - taught.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:14, Reply)
Better technique
How to do fancy things.

Also, when I say 'better technique', I really just mean 'proper, not self-taught technique'.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:20, Reply)
I have a chef living in my house now
Beat THAT for cullinary excellence.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:13, Reply)
Stop with the guilt
I sat at work eating chocolate-filled croissants today.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:13, Reply)
you're like a black vipros
i am now watching "fat families" and feeling like killing myself.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:17, Reply)
Apart from not being black, you may be correct
I've given up on the land of awful tv for the night, and resorted instead to films. And lying down a lot.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:19, Reply)
i was referring to the chocolate croissants
as opposed to his pastier croissants!

these people are 14 stone overweight. that's more than most people weigh overweight, not just overweight. how??
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:20, Reply)
that's like almost 2 fatty copies of me overweight.
I'm only just over 7.5st.
that's a bit mental!

It's a whole me-and-a-bit
Over my current weight. Damn fatties.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:23, Reply)
it's the ignorance that irritates me
fine if you want to be thin or fat, but don't look fucking surprised when you get told that chips, fried noodles and egg fried rice is not a healthy meal.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:25, Reply)
You seem to forget the basic facts:
People are morons. Really stupid morons.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:26, Reply)
there is some merit in this argument counsellor

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:30, Reply)
Hang on.
Are you telling me that the plate of chips, noodles and egg fried rice I've just had ISN'T healthy?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:27, Reply)
you're too thin
you don't get to join in
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:29, Reply)
It's not my fault.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:02, Reply)
I feel like someone's punched me in the head a lot today
But work was reasonably productive, so I can get away with doing very little tomorrow.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:03, Reply)
Oh yeah, if you like.
Go on then.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:08, Reply)
Settling back in down under?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:12, Reply)
yeah actually.
feels really good to be driving again - after 3 months of buses and trains and being a passenger, I really missed it. I've got most of my stuff sorted for uni - just trying to sell some things.
And it's not as hot as I was expecting, which is a huge relief.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:15, Reply)
These are all positives
Is it just ending Summer, heading into Autumn soon?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:24, Reply)
yeah pretty much.
if I'm lucky then there won't be too many more hot days. Although I can't guarantee it - sometimes we get 30+ degrees in March and even in April. but it's rare.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:25, Reply)
I think I would melt
One thing it certainly isn't here in Wales is 'warm'.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:28, Reply)
hey, you shut your mouth
the sun came out today
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:29, Reply)
It then rained quite a lot

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:09, Reply)
I can't handle the heat - I've never been able to.
I prefer the cold.

EVENING!
I have not been murdered! yay!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:19, Reply)
Yet.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:20, Reply)
I should be OK
I don't think I fit in the profile of a murdered person. People always say such nice things about those guys. Well, except when it's a drunk in a gutter
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:28, Reply)
I've decided to hang out in the basement tonight.
I don't feel like dealing with the drama.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:20, Reply)
This sounds like the start of tomorrow's news headlines

Just a bit
What would your weapon of choice be?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:27, Reply)

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:27, Reply)
I'm not going to murder you Crunchy.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:28, Reply)

I'm fine thanks!
Made a decision about moving in with your mate and her daughter yet?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:34, Reply)
not yet
I just don't like the idea of living with a kid
I'm not a parent, OR a babysitter
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:41, Reply)
Are there any other house shares being advertised in your area?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:11, Reply)
The Streets' new album is acemans.
That is all.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:27, Reply)
I find this hard to believe

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:28, Reply)
It's brilliant.
Admittedly I have a slightly biased view as Original Pirate Material was the soundtrack of my very early teens and I've loved them since. The last two albums before this were pony and I don't think I've listened to either one more than once, but Computers and Blues is mega.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:32, Reply)
Where's Gonz this evening?
I want to know the results of the bowel-ruining Lychee from last night.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:27, Reply)
why?
why would anyone want to know? it's not that i don't love gonz it's just... why?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:31, Reply)
I'm very sleepy and fairly hungry.
And pretty guilty.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:32, Reply)
fucking hell
so this morning i had done brilliantly on the diet front. tonight i have skived the gym, eaten a massive dinner, and the fat guru on tv just looked right at me and said "oi you, are you on your arse on the sofa with your two best mates ben and jerry"?

i am hooning off a mini tub of "chunky monkey" as we speak. i am so useless!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:36, Reply)
Frozen Mars Bar and Spoonsburger.
But that was it today. No gym though.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:39, Reply)
Fuck it, I'll have a packet of rice cakes and some diet Cherry Coke too.
but then I won't fit into my dresssss
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:40, Reply)
those items won't make any difference
go for it!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:43, Reply)
Tried on the dress.
Fits everywhere but does bulge around the stomach. Am going to hope Spanx AND control tights will do the job. It's a gorgeous dress though.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:46, Reply)
you will look lovely!
when do you need it for, this weekend?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:55, Reply)
Friday

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:04, Reply)
you'll be fine
starvation on thu will flatten your stomach!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:07, Reply)
Alternatively Lampy
You could just eat sensibly so that your body doesn't think... 'Oooh I'm being starved... When I next get food, I'll store as much of it as possible as I need to preserve fuel'.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:10, Reply)
i am not advocating starvation!
but the exact day BEFORE you need to fit into one outfit, it is the only way to go.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:12, Reply)
Saunas and skipping seems to work for jockeys.
Maybe add that to the routine?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:14, Reply)
I think this is my problem, I'm not eating properly or regularly at the moment.
I BLAME THE SODDING DOCTORS WHEN THEY TELL ME SOMETHING'S WRONG I GO EVEN WORSE
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:18, Reply)
Guilty about what?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:37, Reply)
I'm not doing well at the moment and I snapped at my housemates.
I feel bad.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:40, Reply)
*There there*
Anything the matter?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:42, Reply)
I'm a bit stressed out by everything at the moment
My weight's really bothering me and I've broken my regular eating routine. Which leads to scarfing down a burger and chips instead of food.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:45, Reply)
You're allowed to fall off the 'being good' wagon you know.
Because you'll get back on it again as soon as you can.

So don't stress.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:02, Reply)
I fell off spectacularly
I'm back on. Firmly.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:04, Reply)
Are you in training for anything in particular reason?
Or are you just doing this for you?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:07, Reply)
I want to lose a lot of weight.
It's not healthy, and I don't like being a heifer.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:18, Reply)
Well good for you.
Far better to kick yourself for occasionally falling off the health wagon and then climbing back on it again, than it is to accept you aren't happy with your weight and doing nothing about it at all.

You'll be fine Lampy.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:21, Reply)
I've done nothing about my weight for about 3 years when I saw the scale creeping over 10 stone and being horrified
I'm fairly small in stature and I have a small ribcage, so I shouldn't be this big :/
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:24, Reply)
My problem is the opposite.
I can't put weight on. Which is fine if you like the POW look, but I don't.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:25, Reply)
My problem was diganosed as a thyroid problem when I first went to the doctor's
There's quite a bit of it on the maternal side.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:28, Reply)
Are you taking thyroxine or anything to control it?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:30, Reply)
It was a misdiagnosis, they carried out tests and eliminated it. It was something else altogether.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:31, Reply)
Ahh.
My weight issues are all thyroid related, thus the interest in it!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:34, Reply)
At that point I was starting to rapidly put on weight.
I think they were more testing to eliminate it. God, that was over 3 years ago. That's terrifying.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:35, Reply)
It took them over 3 years to successfully diagnose me.
So are you off to the gym tomorrow?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:39, Reply)
Possibly.
I have an essay to write, but I might as well try. If I'm not too tired.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Well whatever you decide to do.
Try and do it with a smile on your face. No point stressing over both issues as you'll get neither achieved and be more miserable as a result.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:50, Reply)
I'm a grumpy person.
Right now I'm practically falling asleep, but I should probably stay up a little later. Not a lot.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:53, Reply)
Have you got any wine or gin in the house?
Maybe a nightcap before bed might raise your spirits?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:55, Reply)
If I drink I'll either throw up or get horribly maudlin
And I'm not sure gin and cherry coke would work. I may try this, though.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:58, Reply)
That sounds quite nice actually
I'd imagine the first one might be a struggle, but after that, I'll bet it would be quite easy to get a taste for it.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:00, Reply)
I enjoy gin and cherry liquer mixed with lemonade, and I imagine tonic now.
Apparently gin and coke is tolerable.

-contemplates bottle of gin in wardrobe-
-remembers she HAS to write an essay tomorrow and go to a lecture-

Bad Jeff.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:05, Reply)
I'm not saying drink all of it.
I'm just saying that if you're a bit wound up at the moment, an alcoholic drink might help relax you before bed.

That's all!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:10, Reply)
That'd start me on a very very slippery slope
that said a glass of wine would be very nice.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:12, Reply)
I feel bad for suggesting it now.
Maybe just have a spliff.

Sorry, that's naughty of me
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:13, Reply)
i am sure they will understand
everyone snaps. i snap at everyone all the time!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:44, Reply)
It makes me do weeps when I get Swipesnapped.
It's nearly as bad as garnering Amberl's disdain.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:23, Reply)
I'm not sure what I'd rather have.
Someone snap at me, or to slam objects and doors and stomp all through the house and blare their tv or music on their computer.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:47, Reply)
Snap, for me, for sure.
Sure, it's not nice, and there's low level awkwardness, but the latter is just building up passive agressiveness and then YOU'LL snap.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:48, Reply)
that's what I was thinking
because at least they say whats wrong and you can try to fix it
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:51, Reply)
evening folks.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 21:58, Reply)
Evening Bob.
What did you teach today?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:01, Reply)
Maths Jeff,
It was good. It was a bit haphazard but got the results in the end.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:03, Reply)
Did the kids help you with the bits you were finding difficult?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:07, Reply)
yeah, bless em.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:09, Reply)
Was this maths with dinosaurs?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:11, Reply)
yup, estimation, measuring, recording
and trying to get them to see the need for standard measures.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:13, Reply)
And are they happy with standard measures? Or do they all want to double-up for an extra quid?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:19, Reply)
a couple of whiskeys might be a good idea for some of the more mental ones.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:21, Reply)
How many have you got to look after?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:25, Reply)
27, which isn't that bad really but 4 of them are nuts.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:30, Reply)
What aren't those 4 in a special unit?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:33, Reply)
2 have one 2 one helpers
and the other 2 spend half their time in the spacker wing and the other half in normal class. They are evil little shits.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:39, Reply)
Is it a medical thing, or just a result of shit parenting?

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:42, Reply)
1 is parenting, 2 are definitely medical and one claims to be medical
but all the staff just think he is naughty.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:45, Reply)
Back when I were a lad
And all this was just fields.

Your teacher would smack you if you were naughty. This meant far fewer naughty kids, and the ones that were naughty didn't stay naughty very long.

Also, if bad parenting is the issue for one of the kids, would the child not be better off in care?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:50, Reply)
He is but he is still one fucked up little terrorist.
he had a hospital appointment yesterday and the class was so productive without him.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:52, Reply)
He need one-to-one attention
But I'm guessing the school doesn't have the resources for that.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:54, Reply)
it does 4 days a week but he still ruins everything by shouting
or running around or disrupting others he is horrible but you can't do anything about it.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:58, Reply)
And I'm guessing you aren't allowed to hit them these days?
What a fucker though, a fifth of the school week is disrupted by one kid.

How are the other kids expected to learn?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:01, Reply)
I had the afternoon off
Went to the gym
Went to the launderette because my washer/dryer has a busted belt
stopped at the pizza place on the way back
drank a bottle of wine while failing to conquer Europe at online games

It's been a decent evening, frankly.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:30, Reply)
And you can add to that, Bristol Rovers lost AGAIN
hahahaha
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:33, Reply)
I don't revel in others misery
I'm a West Brom fan, I can't afford the karmic burden.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:11, Reply)
With my lot having such a bad season
It is one of the few things that fills me with any sort of pleasure.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:14, Reply)
Alright?
I'm a bit confused tonight. One of my friends has caught that 'Gypsy Wedding' program, and is now stating about how much he hates gypsies. Others are agreeing with him, including one lad writing (and I quote) - "I say we actually make suicide bombers due good for a change and set them on their gypos asses".

A few things concern me about this. The main one is that I'm fairly confident that my friend has never even MET a Gypsy, let alone had a problem with one. The others who are agreeing, I also find somewhat odd. Plus, I abhor racism, while also finding the idea of it hilarious. (Your skin is a different colour from his, therefore you're better? Fuck off.)

Aside from that concern, I'm fucked off I've run out of Marmite.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:36, Reply)
How is it possible to run out of Marmite?
Surely that is a physical impossibility? that stuff lasts a lifetime. You must have had at least 6 months notice that you were running low.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:38, Reply)
why would you want Marmite in the first place, is what I'm concerned about.
that stuff is vile.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:38, Reply)
Either you love it or you hate it.
What new food-stuffs did you learn to love/hate during your European adventure? Or were you just desperate for a packet of Tim Tams the whole time?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:41, Reply)
actually I got quite desperate for Shapes.
they're like a savoury flavoured biscuit, and I didn't see anything like them on my trip, except ONCE, up in wakefield where I found pizza flavoured ones in ASDA.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:06, Reply)
I've never heard of them.
What are they?

What did you think of fish and chips, covered in batter with vinegar and salt and mushy peas?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:08, Reply)
they're yummy, that's what they are.
I don't eat fish or mushy peas, but I loved the vinegar and salted chips. :D
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:15, Reply)
How did the jetlag recovery go last night/this morning?
Did you sleep longer than the 6.30 wake-up
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:18, Reply)
aha nope.
wide awake now. writing out lists of things to take to uni... I'm currently on clothes, and next up is shoes and then books. But it won't take long and I'm BORED. Need to learn something.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:21, Reply)
You need to learn to sleep
As well as working out how you can make it back over the water for your next visit!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:22, Reply)
aha I'm actually thinking I'm going to apply to Oxford Brookes for my final year of uni.
it'd work for a number of reasons - not least of which my uni has a direct exchange program with them.
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:24, Reply)
Isn't that a hugely expensive way of doing your final year?
Or are the uni fees in Aus similar to the fees here?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:27, Reply)
pretty much!
I'll be paying the same whether I stay here or go overseas...
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 23:36, Reply)
Marmite is magnificent!

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:47, Reply)

Was magnificent!

Sadly I can't afford to get any more until month end!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:45, Reply)
I've never tried the extra strong.
Is it nice? (And how much more expensive it it from the normal?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:48, Reply)
It's very nice, it's a much deeper flavour than the normal
It's very expensive though, one for the enthusiasts!
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:49, Reply)
Thing is
I don't need more than one jar of marmite in at anyone time, but when the current one is gone, I might be tempted with the 'strong'.

Is it that much better?
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:53, Reply)
I think it is.

(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:54, Reply)
Well if they are still making it
Then I'll buy it next time.

(If it's shit, I'll blame you)
(, Tue 8 Feb 2011, 22:56, Reply)
I too find racism both repugnant and hilarious.
Hence my love of Bernard Manning.
