Are kids mad for stickers then?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:21, Reply)
it's like crack Jeff, their eyes glaze over, they thrust their chests out and look proud as fuck
for about 4 minutes.

Did you introduce the world of the sticker to the class, or are you following the existing reward scheme?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:25, Reply)
following the existing scheme although I understand it is a staple thing in early years
education.
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:26, Reply)
stickers are safer than staples

I don't recall anything like that when I was a kid.
The highlight of the school year was when the woman from Colgate came round and gave everyone a toothbrush, a small tube of toothpaste and some weird tablets you have to chew that would should you where the dirt was on your teeth.

Stickers? We could only wish.

it was hard growin up in the 80s
kids these days just don't understand

Did the Colgate woman ever come to your school?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:37, Reply)
i remember free little toothpastes
but I don't remember if it was a colgate woman.
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:43, Reply)
Damn you!
I was hoping you'd have said 'No, I remember no such thing!'

And I'd have been all 'Ha! I didn't think she'd been to your school'

Seriously though, do you remember those tablets you crunched up than stained your mouth until you'd brushed it clean?

I think kids with braces had to have them. So for me, that was when I was 16 :(
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:48, Reply)
I had a brace as well.
I had a removeable one, although some kids had stories of a weird contraption they had to wear to bed.

I think I had my brace when I was 13, I know my wisom teeth came out when I was 15. That was fraught with problems.

I had one of those one's that's glued in
and had elastic bands at the back. At least it was taken out before I started uni (although I had a removable one then)

I still have a sticky out tooth, though :(
