my dad's family are all from tod
my cousin's son (my second cousin? first cousin once removed?) is about 16 and he does fell-running up and down those hills. bloody mentalist, but he's v good at it, his coach thinks he could be a potential olympic candidate for 2016.

so what does the stupid kid go and do? takes up smoking. but yeah, having hiked up them, can you imagine running up them?!

it's lovely and dramatic, even if it is a tiny bit bleak in the winter
my grandma is buried up in the victorian graveyard at cross stone, right above tod town centre, and once you've heaved yourself up the vertical road to get there, the views are incredible.

When I was doing my DoE
we got overtaken by a fell runner. He was 60 if he was a day, and he just belted past us with a cheery 'alright?'. About five minutes later his dog trotted past looking pissed off and exhausted.

It was pretty funny
it was the doleful expression on the dogs face, he looked so weary, both physically and sort of 'why the hell does he make me do this?'. I was feeling much the same.

this is why I never did DoE.
I like doing things at my own pace.
