Well if you can make some positive plans then you'll feel a whole lot better.
Are prices quite good if you want to rent a place with a friend?

I'm not sure, I've tried to look online but there's not much online that's reasonable
the friend has a couple of places she wants to show me, may pick up a realtors paper later

Depending on how long the minimum rental period it, is might be worth taking a place that isn't perfect
If it gets you out of the house you're in at the moment.

What other bills do you get lumbered with on a monthly basis?
We get hit with council tax, utility bills and television licence.

hmmm....depends on where you rent, it's likely that if you just get a room in someones home utilities will be free
but if you rent an apartment then they take care of trash removal and water, you take care of the electric, and sometimes heat, it may be the same at a house
if you want a phone or tv and internet service then you do contracts through seperate companies
