I have actually never heard anyone take that view of Metallica before
I know there are those, like Vippers, who consider Death Magnetic decent, but the idea that it's their best album is a new one on me.

but I also like Load and Reload.

In fact I like everything except for St Anger, which is a complete pile of shit.
