*BEAMS*
Yes!

Are you wearing a black armband this evening?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:38, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
Not quite.
But still, really shit. I sat next to him for dinner at a convention once. Lovely bloke.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:39, Reply)
Sad times indeed.
Why not make his passing with a beer?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:41, Reply)
Who died?

EDIT - oh and if you prefer The Smiths to The Cure I fear we may never be able to speak again.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:42, Reply)
Nicholas Courtney
who played the Brigadier in old school Doctor Who.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:42, Reply)
I've nothing against The Cure

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:45, Reply)
I've nothing against The Smiths
apart from that Morrissey is a total penis, but that you actively prefer them to The cure makes me do an epic sadface.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:49, Reply)
I never got into The Cure in a big way.
I think it's because when I was growing up, you could spot a Cure fan from 6 miles away as they all felt the need to dress like Robert Smith.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:51, Reply)
Haha, yes I can well imagine that
but Morrissey is such a flange though.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:53, Reply)
What irks you about his?
I don't have an opinion on him as such.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:55, Reply)
He's such a massive vegetarian emo whinger
and he has silly hair. I'm more annoyed with him about his recent stuff than the stuff he did with The Smiths though.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:59, Reply)

Why ponder life's complexities
when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:02, Reply)
who sung this?

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:04, Reply)
Oddly, it was Morrissey.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:05, Reply)
I would go out tonight
but I haven't got a stitch to wear...

I do love that song actually.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:05, Reply)

haven't got a stitch to wear... 'm having sex with people off the internet.

ah - the record player generator people. Catchy.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:10, Reply)
'The record player generator people's' first album is full of catchy songs like that.
I think you'd like it.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:11, Reply)
I thought I had it to be honest
but apparently not. I shall download it forthwith.

What I said about Morrissey still stands though, and The Cure are better.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:13, Reply)
If I agree that The Cure are better than Morrissey
Will we be friends again?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:17, Reply)

agree that The Cure are better than Morrissey Put my penis inside you
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:20, Reply)

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:20, Reply)
I wouldn't want to deprive you
so yes, okay.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:20, Reply)
Well I don't agree.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:21, Reply)
Well you're wrong
so ner.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:22, Reply)

I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:24, Reply)
I am the son and heir
of nothing in particular.

Yes yes alright. I like The Smiths, but you're still wrong.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:26, Reply)
What difference does it make?

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:28, Reply)
It makes none
and now you have gone and...something...you must be looking old tonight.

Had to think about that one.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:30, Reply)
Heaven knows I'm miserable now.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:32, Reply)
You're always miserable
and so is bloody Morrissey.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:33, Reply)
You giving up on The Smiths song-title pundown?

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:35, Reply)
I wasn't aware it was a pundown
I was just saying the next lyric.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:36, Reply)
It's too far to the right anyway!
Catch you on the left side?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:37, Reply)

a shyness that is criminally vulgar Cave Duck.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:27, Reply)
I quite like The Holloways
but I don't like that they are the frontrunner of dozens of other shitty bands that sound exactly like them
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:13, Reply)
I was surprised The Kooks sold more than they did.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:18, Reply)
I have wine
and five rounds rapid.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:42, Reply)
He'll always be remembered for that line.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:44, Reply)
It was the title of his autobiography.

(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:45, Reply)
I've never read his autobiography
Is it a good read?
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:47, Reply)
Yeah, not bad.
Long out of print though.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 21:48, Reply)
I might see if I can pick up a copy of ebay at some point.
(Unless they reprint it, to cash-in on his death).

Ha ha.
Brilliant.
(, Wed 23 Feb 2011, 22:03, Reply)
'5 rounds rapid' would be a good name for a punk band.
