read the bit in bridget jones about the smug married dinner party
i love the bit where she is asked by a friend with a truly dreadful husband how she copes with being single and she thinks "because frankly if i had to get into bed with him just once, never mind every night for the rest of my life, i'd tear off my own head and eat it".

then skip home to your lovely peaceful pad and thank fuck you're not married to some hairy belching farting stinking snoring tool!

I have never read it
but she has a point - I've not met one of the husbands, but he sounds like a complete tool

i love the first book
it's very smart and very very funny and not really all that like the film.

Not seen the film, either
I'd feel like too much of a stereotype if I read it

i was 19 when i read it the first time round
i flick through it at least once a year, it still makes me laugh 137 years later.

You don't need to worry about that
from what I can gather about swipe's friends, her life is a mixture of Bridget Jones, Sex and the City and the Three Stooges.

there is more truth in this than you probably realise
but then that's because those things were written about cliches like my mates in the first place.

I am very perceptive.
